Summary:

Individual will provide knowledge and assistance to maintenance personnel on the T-1A aircraft basic structure and operating systems, avionics and electrical systems, engine operations, support equipment, and required maintenance tasks. Field Support Representative (FSR) shall possess the ability to work independently, without technical guidance, to perform tasks included in the T-1A aircraft maintenance manual. FSR shall have sufficient education and maintenance experience to perform the duties involved in maintenance, assembly, operation, repair, test, and related functions of the T-1A aircraft. FSR shall have experience utilizing all ground support equipment necessary to maintain the T-1A aircraft. FSR shall have the ability to transfer technical knowledge to less qualified personnel and communicate effectively in both oral and written communication. Supports all program needs and supports various other tasks.

Responsibilities:

Provide instruction, assistance, and on-the-job training in:

a) Operating and maintaining the T-1A aircraft and its avionics, propulsion, and support equipment systems

b) Resolving T-1A aircraft equipment or system anomalies

c) Performing fault reporting and fault isolation procedures

d) Removing and installing components, demonstrating hands-on training of new tasks when approved by the Functional Area Chief

e) Using hand equipment, special tools, and test equipment

f) Emphasizing safety precautions during operation and maintenance

g) Providing interpretation of technical data set forth in Technical Orders

Provide Suggestions for Improvement including:

1.

Additional training for organizational maintenance team personnel

2.

Changes to operation, maintenance, inspection, and training requirements to improve system performance/reliability

3.

Advisory representation to the Contractor’s program management team to make recommendations concerning Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and Service Instructions (SIs)

4.

Reviewing and validating 1st time part requests submitted to the COMBS to identify potential fleet impacts across sites

5.

Assist in monitoring all failures and performing trending and analysis, recommend corrective actions

Provide Hands-On Maintenance and Support

1.

Validating the best method for accomplishing service instructions, time compliance technical orders or installing mods or retrofit kits

2.

Completing Depot level maintenance tasks as requested

3.

Assisting in mishap investigations, service reporting, and material deficiency report evaluations

4.

Participating in testing functional and operational check of T-1A aircraft when authorized by Functional Area Chief or designee

5.

To peculiar support equipment maintained by COMBS as approved by ACO and not interfering with other FSR duties

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Required:

*

Five or more years of field maintenance experience on the T-1A platform or ten or more years field maintenance experience on other aircraft platforms

*

Ability to provide technical support on the T-1A platform with no additional training

*

Ability to read and comprehend aircraft technical orders, job guides, schematic diagrams, engineering drawings, charts, work instructions and technical publications

*

Physical ability to lift and handle 50 lbs and perform climbing and stooping tasks related to the job

*

Must have an in-depth knowledge (aircraft/vehicle movement and safety/hazards) of flight line operations

*

Effective problem solving skills with limited direction

*

Current driver’s license

Preferred

*

Five or more years leadership experience in aircraft maintenance and or logistics role

*

JT15D turbofan engine experience

*

Five or more years of aircraft Avionics/Electrical experience on Rockwell Collins Pro Line 2/4 system

*

Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate

*

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or other aerospace related field
