The Flight Operations Procedures Specialist is responsible for maintaining a cohesive Flight Operations General Policies and Procedures Manual.  This position will also coordinate and track responsible party and department responses to operational issues raised by pilots, the FAA and other Frontier departments.  The duties of this position are, but not limited to, the following:

 

  • Maintain, improve and simplify Flight Operations Manual Volume 1 (General Policies and Procedures).
  • Act as a liaison and coordinate between Flight Operations and other parties involved in General Policies and Procedures (FAA, Frontier Departments, and Other Airlines).
  • Address General Policies and Procedures issues raised by pilots, the FAA and other Frontier departments and coordinate any necessary changes between departments.
  • Research Flight Operations FAA technical questions as necessary for Volume 1.
  •  Provide guidance and project management support to Flight Operations on General Policies and Procedures issues as necessary.
  • Review Publications Revision Forms submitted by users of Volume 1.
  • Coordinate with the Airbus Fleet Manager to ensure proper guidance is provided in FOM Volume 1 and not duplicated or in conflict with FOM Volume 2.
  • Prepare Frontier Must-Reads and Bulletins related to General Policies and Procedures issues as needed.
  • Process, respond to and follow up on Line Pilot Reports, and forward to responsible party or department at Frontier for investigation and follow-up as necessary.
  • Track Flight Operations On-Time Performance Issues and forward issues to the responsible party or department at Frontier for investigation and follow-up as necessary.
  • Coordinate jump seat issues with FAPA and other airlines.
  • Other related functions as directed by the Chief Pilot or Assistant Chief Pilots

 

Requirements

Qualifications:

 

·         Bachelors’ Degree or equivalent experience

·         2 years of airline or aviation experience, including 121 experience

·         1 year of publications / editing / technical writing experience

·         Pilot Certificate strongly preferred

 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

·         High skill level regarding efficiency, detail orientation and organizational ability

·         Excellent time management and prioritization skills, and ability to handle multiple tasks

·         Strong ability to write and communicate clearly

·         Working knowledge of Flight Operations-related General Policies and Procedures issues

·         Expertise with Microsoft Windows, Word, EXCEL, PowerPoint, Internet, etc.
