Position Summary:

Flight Training Manager reports to the Director of Training and is based at the Cincinnati FlightSafety International facility and is responsible for the Air Carrier’s flight crew / flight training facility oversight and onsite program delivery and/or administration approved under 14 CFR 121. Position provides field oversight of the flight training program(s), associated training devices, simulators, manuals/publications, curriculum(s) and 14 CFR compliance. Participates with all aspects of the flight training program and supports, oversees and liaises with training facilities, training candidates and instructor pilots at multiple sites. The Flight Training Manager will work closely the FAA, safety, standards, crew administration and flight operations. Operator’s approved programs provide for initial, transition, upgrade, recurrent and requalification. Position requires extensive travel between Air Carrier’s flight training facilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Oversight of Company’s simulator instructor pilots

* Quality control, compliance and administration of flight training programs

* Flight training facility management at multiple simulator facility locations

* On location - Flight simulator, flight training device and flight training equipment oversight

* Validate required simulator scenarios, characteristics, fidelity, visuals and required statements of qualification

* Liaise with regulatory authorities, training facility management, vendors and various Company departments on all flight training related matters

* Supervision, standardization and quality assurance for flight training – lessons, equipment, devices and simulator instructor pilots

* Content owner – Simulator Instructor Guide

* Adapt and validate simulation training required to meet or exceed all current and future Company and regulatory requirements and/or guidance

* Conduct simulator training as approved within the Operator’s training program

* Quality and maintenance oversight of flight training records

* Analyze data, identify trends, implement solutions, and ensure continuous performance improvement is achieved

* Participate as a quality assurance auditor for flight standards and flight operations

* On-site management representative and communication conduit for instructors and students

Qualifications:

* FAA ATP with previous 14 CFR 121 PIC experience

* Previous experience in training management or commensurate position in airline operations

* Instructor Pilot – Company approved program

* Previous experience in both, 14 CFR 121 subparts N&O and AQP flight training (strongly preferred)

* Superior knowledge of airline policies, procedures and standards

* Strong management skills

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills

* Proficient in MS office applications
