Primary Functions

Maximize profitability by planning and developing the domestic route network
Develop proposals for aircraft redeployment to improve utilization and profitability
Monitor other airline schedule changes and develop solutions to mitigate competitive impact
Work closely with critical partners in Finance, Strategic Planning, Revenue Management, Sales, Alliances, Consumer Marketing, Tech Ops, Flight Ops and other departments to develop strategies that improve Delta's long term profitability
Coach and mentor a team of technical professionals
Organize analytical support to develop strategic plans positioning Delta and the domestic system for future growth
Have a complete mastery of the department's multiple data sources and technology tools, including mainframe programming and database querying
Communicate performance information and support executive-level decision-making
Practice safety conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures
Lead through demonstration of Delta's core values as outlined in Rules of the Road; communicates a compelling view of the organization's purpose and value in a way that helps others understand the importance and impact of their contributions; advocates for others
Work with team members to develop specific behaviors, skills or knowledge needed to ensure sustained performance and to prepare for success in new responsibilities

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering or related; Master's degree in quantitative field preferred
Must possess top-tier skills in strategic thinking, financial and economic modeling / analysis, project management, and oral and written presentation
Must have ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and to leverage resources across all divisions at Delta
Extensive industry knowledge and experience with industry data sources is a requirement
Technical skills required include advanced skills in PowerPoint, Excel, and database querying
Experience with mainframe programming a plus
