General Manager Innovations

Position Summary

The General Manager Innovations will be responsible for driving the strategy, design, development and delivery of innovative products related to JetBlue Vacations. The General Manager will develop the roadmap that establishes a differentiated digitally-driven user experience for JetBlue Vacations customers.

The General Manager will oversee the innovation pipeline and be responsible for implementing innovative technology for JetBlue vacations. The General Manager provides leadership and subject matter expertise over the end to end design of new early stage products and services that leverage emerging technologies.

The General Manager will support the conceptualization and design of products and services and will play a key role in creating and designing “big bets”, and accelerating the development of those “big bets” throughout the organization.

Essential Responsibilities

* Drive the innovation strategy and initiatives for JetBlue Vacations
* Analyze and evaluate new, relevant technologies that drive a differentiated experience for JetBlue Vacations customers
* Identify and exchange best practices through collaboration across the organization to determine technology integration
* Manage design and development, and ensure fast time-to-market for technologies
* Drive product strategy, establish product marketing efforts, and manage key partnerships.
* Oversee the user experience of a product from conception until launch
* Facilitates research and testing to both inform and validate design decisions and focus on constant improvement
* Provide insight on business opportunities and risks
* Other duties as assigned

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

* Bachelor’s Degree
* Six (6) years’ experience of project management, business development and digital product experience
* Ability to analyze information to identify emerging trends and key product concepts
* Knowledge of customer service product development
* Knowledge of marketing strategy, channels, and trends
* Ability to use data to create a compelling business case
* Ability to direct multiple projects simultaneously
* Ability to influence and inform executive leadership
* Available for occasional overnight travel (20%)
* In possession of valid travel document with the ability to travel in and out of the United States
* Must pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
* Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

* Master’s Degree
* Previous experience working with start-ups
* Experiencing implementing digital products into the market
* Project Management Professional (PMP) certified
* Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification
* Knowledge of airline business models and products
* Experience managing remote teams

Crewmember Expectations

* Regular attendance and punctuality
* Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
* Well groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance
* When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft
* Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and Fun
* Must fulfill safety accountabilities as prescribed by JetBlue’s Safety Management System
* Promote JetBlue’s #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue’s Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards
* Identify safety concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report(SAR))
* Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures and risk controls
* Uphold JetBlue’s safety performance metric goals and understand how they relate to their duties and responsibilities
