Job Description

Boeing is seeking a Career level Systems Engineer for the On-Orbit Operations of the Global Positioning System (GPS) IIA and IIF satellite constellation. This position is located at Schriever AFB, Colorado.

Specific emphasis is on the GPS Block IIF Satellite Control Processor (SCP) and associated flight software.

 

This role's responsibilities include the following:

  • Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify a life-cycle balanced system of systems and system solution(s) which satisfies customer/operational needs and public acceptability.
  • Defines system performance (requirements), integrates technical parameters
  • Assures compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture(s).
  • Performs affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties engineering analyses
  • Obtains a preferred configuration which assures mission success

This position may required periodic travel on an infrequent basis.

Qualifications 

Basic Qualifications: (requirements)

  • This position requires an active (or the ability to obtain) U.S. Security Clearance, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • This position requires an ACTIVE SECRET CLEARANCE
  • Requires a Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or physics
  • Experience as a system analyst or in a similar role

  

Preferred skills and attributes:

 

  • Collaborative approach to plan, design, develop systems and system solutions .
  • Experience defining system performance requirements
  • Identifies compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces
  • Proven success optimizing total system of systems and/or system architecture.
  • Performance of analysis of affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, and product assurance.

 

Education: Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 5 or more years' experience, Master's degree with 3 or more years' experience or PhD degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
