Have the knowledge, experience, training, and demonstrated ability to instruct crew members or aircraft dispatchers in curriculum segments other than flight training.
Must be knowledgeable with PenAir training policies and procedures and demonstrate satisfactory instructional methods and techniques.
Must be knowledgeable in the applicable requirements of 14 CFR parts 61, 63, 65, 91, 110, 117, 119 and 121; other applicable FAA policies and safe operating practices; and PenAir’s policies and procedures. An instructor should possess effective communication skills and a manner that always reflects professionalism and a positive attitude toward safety.
Be a current and qualified PenAir Ground Instructor by completing the following training required in the Corporate Administration Manual (CAM):
Ground Instructor Initial – Ground
Ground Instructor Recurrent – Ground
In addition to the Ground Instructor training requirements listed above, the Ground Instructor must be qualified and current in the particular curriculum, segment and or module for which they will certify to the satisfactory proficiency and knowledge of crewmembers and aircraft dispatchers after completion of a ground training curriculum segment module.
Pilot license, type rating preferred.
If responsible for a particular ground training subject, course of training subject, course of training, of this part, a Ground Instructor must certify to the proficiency and knowledge of the flight crewmember, flight attendant, aircraft dispatcher, instructor, check airmen, check flight attendant or check dispatcher concerned upon completion of that training.
Remain qualified and current in the curriculum, segment and or module for which they will certify the knowledge of crewmembers and aircraft dispatchers after complete of a ground training curriculum segment or module.
Be knowledgeable in the specific area of instruction and able to present material in a logical, clear, and organized manner.
Be aware of the minimum equipment and courseware required for each element of training.
Follow lesson plans, guides, or other training aids to ensure material is properly presented as designed.
Adhere to all applicable PenAir policies and procedures outlined in the FOTM.
Remain proficient on all applicable PenAir policies and procedures within the FOTM.
Attend recurrent instructor ground school and standardization meetings.
Other duties as assigned by the training department management.
