Job Description

The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking an experienced H-47 Senior Wire Design & Installation Engineer (Level 4) to join the H-47 Chinook Program located in Ridley Park, PA. This position will provide senior technical oversight and guidance across all H-47 Chinook Wire Installation projects, in the role of Technical Lead Engineer (TLE).

 

Primary Responsibilities:

Duties as a technical lead engineer will include (but are limited to):

  • Responsibility at the workgroup level for technical execution and use of established engineering processes and practices, including engineering development in accordance with Electrical Design Integration (EDI) maturity process
  • Advise, assist, and check all engineering work produced by the Chinook Wire Installation engineering team, with a primary outcome of increased technical integrity and first time quality while enabling the achievement of business goals
  • Actively participate and provide technical leadership throughout the engineering design maturity process, including proposal development support, requirements development and review, electrical architecture development, design oversight, teaching and mentoring, design reviews, customer reviews, and parts fabrication and installation support

The successful candidate for this job will have demonstrated experience across Wire Harness Assembly (WHA) installation design, including 3D Model Based Definition (MBD) using CATIA V5.

 

The Boeing Plant in Ridley Park, PA, is home to the V-22 Osprey Tiltrotor and the H-47 Chinook Helicopter. These aircraft are designed, tested, and manufactured at the site. In addition, the Ridley Park site hosts an Enterprise Support group which provides design and analysis of structural, mechanical, and electrical systems for Boeing Commercial Aircraft and Military Derivatives. Boeing employs approximately 5,000 people at the site, more than 250 of them are Electrical Engineers. The plant is situated along the Delaware River approximately 10 miles southwest of Philadelphia, and 2 miles from the international airport.

Qualifications 

Basic Qualifications (Required):

  • Experience in Aerospace Engineering discipline
  • Experience using 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools and Model-Based-Definition
  • Experience using CATIA V5

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Mentor Graphics Capital tool
  • Experience with IPDM (Integrated Product Data Management) Teamcenter
  • Experience in electrical design in accordance with SAE-AS50881 specification requirements
  • Experience as a technical lead for an engineering team

Work Authorization:

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.

 

Typical Education / Experience:

Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 9 or more years' experience, Master's with 7 or more years' experience or PhD with 4 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
