JOB TITLE

Ground Equipment Maintenance Technician

JOB SUMMARY

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for general maintenance of ground service equipment (GSE) and vehicles.  This role troubleshoots and repairs all ground equipment such as FMC container loaders, 28.5V DC and 115V A/C ground power units, hydrant fuelers, tanker trucks, forklifts, and other related ground equipment. This role is to provide ground equipment maintenance operations including systems and components test, analyzing performance variations, isolating defective components and systems, repairing engine failures, and mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Diagnose equipment problems, replace or repairing faulty parts, maintain safe, efficient operation of all ground equipment.

Responsible for routine and scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrications, and tune ups.

Troubleshoot and repair electrical and hydraulic systems, automatic and standard transmissions, and all other aspects of ground equipment repair.

Operate hand tools, air tools, light duty equipment, and machinery.

Overhaul automatic transmissions.

Adhere to Company's culture by following all safety, security, and compliance guidelines.

Interpersonal Skills

Solve conflict with calm demeanor; remain open to others ideas and tries new things.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk, and hear.

Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Lift/move up to 75 pounds.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Outdoor conditions including weather, noise, airborne particles, etc.

Indoor conditions include loud noises, fumes, airborne particles, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or GED.

Valid driver's license.

At least 18 years of age.

Minimum two years of work experience in automotive or related field.

Minimum two years troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems, hydraulic systems, automatic transmission and all other aspects of ground equipment repair.

General welding, auto body, and paint knowledge.

General diesel engine and repair experience.

Ability to obtain airport vehicle operator’s permit, AOA badge, and Customs Seal.

ASE Certified a plus!

Airline experience a plus!
