Job Summary

Rockwell Collins Simulation and Training Solutions is seeking a proactive, engaged High School intern interested in learning about simulation software engineering development.

Job Responsibilities

The High School Intern will be part of the team of engineers investigating the feasibility of replacing a current software graphics package. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Setting up a computer with the necessary component tools for graphics software development.

*

Learn the graphics software functionality.

*

Analyze a current avionics display component for appearance and functionality.

*

Design an equivalent avionics display component in a new software tool.

*

Code and test an equivalent display component on a PC.

*

Integrate a display component on a provided software load for a simulation device.

*

Ensures compliance to development processes and standard work requirements.

*

Test and verify functionality on a simulation device system.

*

Debug and correct any issues in the graphics or software.

*

Participate in weekly team meetings to plan goals and give status.

*

Ensures compliance to development processes and standard work requirements.

*

Show teamwork in the development process and support team review of progress.

Basic Qualifications

* Requires a full time high school student pursuing a High School Diploma. Applicant must be at least 16 years old prior to employment start date (i.e. students can be less than 16 years old at time of application).

* Must be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. US Citizenship is required.
* Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.

Interest in gaining experience on an engineering team.

*

Written and verbal communication skills.

Experience with software development and computer graphics
