Responsibilities:

· Removes and installs aircraft subsystem assemblies and components such as engines, rotors, transmissions, mechanical flight controls and their components.

· Services and lubricates aircraft and subsystems.

· Safely prepares aircraft for inspections and maintenance checks and services.

· Performs scheduled inspections and assists in performing special inspections

· Performs limited maintenance operations checks and diagnosis and troubleshoots aircraft systems using special tools and test equipment as required.

· Uses and performs operator maintenance on tools, special tools and aircraft ground support equipment.

· Applies comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate problems by interpreting technical documentation such as aircraft Technical manuals, Maintenance Information, Action Messages, and all technical guidance provided through government official representatives.

· Receives technical assistance as required from higher-level technician.

· Participates in maintenance test flights and operation checks as required.

Qualifications

Education: High School Graduate or equivalent.

Qualifications: UH-60 Mechanic with a minimum of three (3) years’ hands on experience.

Extensive Deport level repair experience desired which includes the repair of components, airframes, or end items, requiring personnel of higher technical skill beyond the organizational level capability.

Must be highly proficient in duties respective to the position. Must be qualified in all facets of systems, aircraft maintenance and troubleshooting. Current on ARMY flight publications and maintenance techniques.

Certifications: Valid driver's license required.

Must be able to get and maintain a Secret clearance.

Working Conditions: May be required to work in areas that are noisy, dusty, and dirty. May be exposed to moderate discomforts, such as heat, cold and wind. This position requires normal physical functions. Work may require frequent bending, reaching and climbing. Work may be performed on top or under equipment in cramped or awkward positions. May frequently lift and carry items weighing up to fifty pounds and occasionally lift heavier items with the assistance of other workers. Will be required to comply with safety requirements of the Standard Operating Procedures Manual. May be required to wear personal protective equipment, where applicable.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to climb ladders, stairs and portable stands and navigate these without assistance. Must be able to work at heights 70 feet above the ground. Must be able to work in extreme heat/cold.

Must be able to work in the following environmental conditions: noise, vibration, proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, chemicals, odors, dust. Must be able to bend, reach, stoop, balance, push, pull, kneel, grasp, crouch, crawl, work in narrow aisles/passageways, and work in close spaces that restrict movement including aircraft fuel tanks for extended periods of time.

Must be able to stand for sustained periods of time. Must be able to work primarily with fingers such as picking, pinching, typing. Must have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.

Must be capable of routinely performing industry standard ambidextriosities required to complete tasks. Must be able to lift/maneuver up to 50 pounds. Must be able and willing to enter and work in confined spaces, such as aircraft fuel tanks and beneath floor panels with clearances of 18” – 24”.
