The Manager of Inflight Standards is responsible for managing and drafting regulatory and non-regulatory policies and processes for Inflight. The Manager drives strategy and initiatives for cross-functional and complex programs, relentlessly seeking continuous improvement while promoting Spirit’s common purpose and values.
Ensures Inflight Training programs meets all regulatory requirements and operational needs
Recommends new procedures and methods of improvement
Coordinates with other departments to determine new procedures or policies that affect the respective workgroup
Drives and supports definition, delivery, and measurement of programs
Proactively monitors risk, issues and scope ensuring the appropriate level or priority, visibility and escalation
Ability to research industry trends and other airline procedures and policies to ensure Spirit is at the forefront of industry best practices
Assess policies to improve efficiency and lowering costs in line with Spirit’s business model
Maintains approved regulated manuals – FAM and FOTM
Coordinates manual revisions based upon fleet changes, regulatory requirements and process improvement
Ability to translate Company policies (ex: attendance and reliability) and expectations associated with Spirit’s Common Purpose
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate complex issues in a structured and concise manner
Serves as liaison to the FAA for approvals of regulatory content.
Superior verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate and understand highly technical, regulatory rules and procedures.
Politically astute in ability to interact with all levels of Spirit Leadership and the FAA.
Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines.
Must have the ability to prioritize tasks to meet department objectives and goals
Be a self-starter and able to work with a minimum amount of supervision to accomplish assignments and projects
Able to work effectively individually or in a strong Customer Service and/or Team environment
Willingness and ability to work nights, weekends and travel as required
Ability to assume a high level of responsibility and to provide direction in a team-oriented environment
Ability to partner and work effectively with Managers and Directors to develop and implement departmental and Company plans and strategies

Ability to design and conduct analyses, as well as synthesize recommendations

Available for flexible daily scheduling to support Spirit Airlines’ operation
Must be able to quickly adapt to various work schedules and last minute changes with minimal disruption to the operation.

Enthusiastic about managing and measuring process.
Highly organized and disciplined.
Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time as well as function in an office environment.
Minimum four years of project/program management required
Proven track record of program expertise required
Knowledge of Inflight Training and development processes preferred
Ability to maintain current Spirit Airlines Flight Attendant Certification
Must possess a thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, as well as familiarity with CrewTrac and FTWeb.
Ability to utilize all available technology to support the Inflight department.
Travel up to 25%
Bachelor’s degree required
