Summary/Objective:  The Inflight Supervisor position is responsible for the supervision and oversight of PSA’s flight attendant personnel in their day-to-day needs.
 
Essential Functions:  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Act as liaison between management and flight attendants to communicate key information, answer questions and resolve operational issues.
  • Support goals and objectives of the Inflight Department.
  • Conduct regular crew room visits in domicile to ensure effective communication with line FA’s.
  • Provide support with daily administration of domiciles.
  • Conduct monthly quality assurance flight (onboard revenue flights) audits
  • Share on-call duty manager responsibilities to support 24/7 coverage.
  • Monitor FA performance and attendance reliability, including FML usage.
  • Monitor JRM/EXT ‘refusals’ and other unavailable absences.
  • Monitor probationary FA’s performance and mentor in an effort to develop good work habits.
  • Conduct FA investigatory meetings and administer coaching/counseling, corrective action as necessary and in accordance with CBA.
  • Audit FA Manuals for revisions and bulletins to ensure compliance.
  • Assist with OJI reporting.
  • Provide oversight of department ton time performance including periodic right start observations.
  • Follow-up with FA’s after emergency landings and medical emergencies.
  • Recognize flight attendant longevity and distribute service pins.
  • Administer recognition “programs” e.g. attendance; above and beyond; passenger recommendations; acceptance of JRM and extension assignments; birthdays; etc.
  • Assist with Inflight recruiting
  • Line flying as necessary to protect the integrity of the schedule and to maintain qualification on all aircraft type to which FA’s are assigned.
  • Other projects as assigned.
Competencies and Knowledge:  The successful candidate should have demonstrated skills in the following:  coaching; influence; approachability; performance management; problem-solving; strong positive communication skills (verbal and written); ability to translate complex aviation terms and explanations into easily understandable language for all employees; project management skills; ability to work with minimal supervision in a team environment; change advocacy; professional aptitude; multi-tasking and adaptability in an aggressive growth environment., strong foundational knowledge of Microsoft Office 2013 Products, professionalism, flexibility, initiative and time management skills.
 
Supervisory Responsibility:  This is a supervisory position.
 
Work Environment:  This job operates in a professional office environment.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, facsimile machines and filing cabinets.
 
Physical Demands:  The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 
 
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.  The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; climb up and down stairs.  When serving as a flight attendant must, in performance of those duties, lift weight up to 42 lbs.; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
 
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:  This is a full-time position with an expectation of on-site office coverage on evenings and weekend as job duties demand. 
 
Travel:  Travel, to include overnight travel, may be required of this position.
 
Required Education and Experience:  High school diploma or GED equivalent.  Minimum of one-year Flight Attendance experience.
 
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:  Two years Flight Attendant experience and supervisory or management experience preferred, college degree or equivalent experience preferred.
 
Security Clearance:  All employees are required to pass the fingerprint-based criminal history records check (CHRC) per 49CFR1542.209.
