Inspectors in this position inspect raw stock, machined parts and assemblies for conformance with applicable drawings, specifications, quality standards, manufacturing plans and for workmanship. Machined Parts Inspectors also perform various in-process inspections and audits and heat-treat inspections. Receive/obtain parts/assemblies with appropriate paperwork per required procedures. Verify part number, serial number, and that the quantity matches paperwork. Check condition of container and hardware, as required. Verify all work instructions are complete and accurate. Ensure that appropriate revisions of drawings / BAC specifications and other documents are being used by the shop and inspection.
Review the work instructions, drawing and job. Obtain and/or set up the part/assembly. Select and set up the appropriate measuring instruments / tool. Lay out castings, forgings and parts, as required, to establish reference points and check dimensions. Inspect dimensions (including compound angles and close tolerance holes) and workmanship (e.g., machine finish) per the drawing, specification and plan. Identify and document discrepancies and reject parts/assemblies, as required. Note discrepant condition(s) and what the correct configuration of the part/assembly should be, citing drawing, specification, or plan requirements. Record results and process paperwork.
Indicate QA acceptance on the appropriate work instruction and process. Perform in-process inspections and audits. Interface with internal/external organizations to provide clarification and/or additional information. Verify certifications of tools and personnel are current. Handle, use and dispose of hazardous materials in approved manner.

This position requires occasional (1-3 Hrs) Finger manipulation, Flexion/Extension, Handling, Lifting less than 25 pounds, Rotation of head/neck, Sitting, Standing, and Walking. Use of personal protective equipment for face/eyes and ears may be required.
8 years aerospace manufacturing with 4 years of Quality experience preferred. ASQ certification preferred. High school graduate or GED preferred.
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
