Job Description

Responsible for designing, developing, editing, revising, and creating a variety of training products across the organization.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Creates effective and engaging instructional curriculum specifically crafted to produce desired learning outcomes and support the goals of the business
  • Employs a variety of teaching strategies conducive to motivating learning, including examples, practice, and interactivity
  • Analyzes learner background and instructional needs
  • Consults with internal customers regarding design, development and revision of their training products
  • Determines course objectives and the appropriate sequence in which to address them, and develops assessment items that accurately measure learning outcomes
  • Maintains open communication with stakeholders to ensure projects proceed in a timely manner and deadlines are met
  • Uses technology and multimedia appropriately to enhance training
  • Revises existing web-based training according to new policy changes or updated regulations
  • Creates storyboards for web-based training programs
  • Designs and develops web-based training programs using Adobe Captivate
  • Designs, develops and revises participant guides, instructor guides, and job aids following department and company style guidelines
  • Ensures training materials are in compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations and ensures responsiveness to regulatory agencies (including TSA, DOD, DOT, FAA, FBI and NTSB)
  • Completes other tasks as required
  • Maintains currency with instructional design and industry trends and research

Job Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in relevant field or equivalent experience/training
  • At least 2 years’ experience applying instructional design to performance-based training
  • At least 2 years of technical writing experience applying training methodologies
  • Ability to assess training needs, consult with internal customers, and develop appropriate instructional curriculum that produces desired learning outcomes
  • Fundamental knowledge of instructional design and adult learning methodologies
  • Strong interpersonal skills; highly approachable and professional at all times Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently and efficiently ensuring that deadlines are met
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, etc.) and Adobe Captivate
  • Fundamental understanding of airline operations
