This role is supporting the IT organization. This manager position is in the Indirect Procurement organization focusing on IT hardware and software components.
Ideal candidate should have proven experience with complex software and hardware contracts, knowledge of software licensing, enterprise agreements, maintenance agreements, Master service agreements and a strong knowledge of IT processes. Must be able to interpret, analyze and summarize contracts, and evaluate pricing proposals. Candidate must have strong communication skills and be able to work effectively with a wide range of cross functional teams.
SAP experience preferred.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree business administration or related field required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Master's Degree preferred. 10 years related procurement and contract experience to include at least five (5) years of progressively responsible management experience or progressive procurement experience. IT Procurement experience required. Supervisory experience preferred.
Under minimal supervision, develop, implement, and maintain an IT purchasing strategy, company policies and procedures. Ensures achievement of Corporate and organizational goals.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Functions: 1. Manages all activities within assigned IT Purchasing Department. 2. Reviews, approves and participates in the development of negotiation strategies and negotiation of major contracts involving equipment, materials and services and ensures appropriate administration of contracts. 3. Reviews and approves award of agreements and purchase orders which exceed the buyer’s signature authorization level, and reviews and concurs in awards which exceed his/her signature authorization level, or rejects either for correction and/or addition of essential documentation. 4. Executes on spend rationalization and cost savings strategies for IT categories including Professional Services, Software, Hardware, and IT Security. 5. Develops recommendations for and monitors progress toward timely support of program requirements, internal customer required. need dates, departmental budget constraints, revenue targets and other objectives. 6. Responsible for the selection, development, and retention of procurement support staff. 7. Serves as a liaison between purchasing and the IT organization, financial management, cost analysis, contracts, and other internal customers, as required. 8. Prepares reports, develops and maintains metrics for the department’s performance and ensures maintenance of appropriate records. Perform other duties as assigned.
Other Requirements: 1. Significant expertise in dealing with complex procurements. 2. Detailed knowledge in purchasing methods and techniques.
