Delta Air Lines has an opportunity for a Java Developer in the Channel Servicing application portfolio. This position will contribute technical expertise to enable solutions that deliver business, application, data and infrastructure solutions. This is an exciting role offering the chance to be a part of our transformation and drive innovation. All candidates must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
This position is located in MSP.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES IN THIS ROLE:

-Contributes to technical initiatives and/or projects requiring integration of cross-functional systems. Provides technical guidance in evaluating applications systems or evaluating requests for proposals
-Primary responsibilities include developing, and implementing Java/J2EE application projects, features and enhancements with an emphasis on clean, highly efficient, supportable, and well documented code
-Participate in design meetings and consult with business clients to prioritize key business/technical initiatives and refine, test, and debug programs to meet business needs
-Utilizes knowledge of the customer's business to recommend solutions, and ensures business and technology objectives are met and maintained
-Understands user and process requirements and ensures those requirements can be achieved through high-quality deliverables.
-Creates system documentation/play book(s) and serves as a lead technical reviewer and contributor in requirements, design and code reviews
-Serve as a resource to the business and/or as a technical resource to cross-functional third party and internal team members on highly complex design/code reviews and identification of solutions for improving system performance and availability
-Collaborating with developers across multiple projects to develop and build consensus on common re-usable application components
-Quickly and effectively produce high quality code for the full technological stack, from database to UI and everything in-between
-Practices safety-conscious behavior in all operational processes and procedures

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR? / WHAT EXPERIENCE DO YOU NEED?

-The Java Developer position requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training in the computer systems development field
-1- 5 years of Java/J2EE development experience, hands-on troubleshooting and deployment experience with strong understanding of transforming business and functional requirements into technical solutions
-Experience in SDLC, both Agile and Waterfall
-Solid knowledge of high-scale, multi-tenant Web service development, including RESTful APIs and micro services, and SOA services
-Experience with Java, J2EE, Websphere, SQL, ETL tools, RAD, SonarQube, GitHub, Tealeaf, Jenkins, JUnit
-Prefer experience with or knowledge of: Rational Clearcase, RAD, web based platforms, C++, and Quality Center
-Experience working with kiosks is a plus. Candidate must have excellent verbal and written skills.
-Ability to clearly communicate with peers, business analysts, and subject matter experts
