The Jr. Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the following:
- Develop state of the art electrical designs for aerospace controls and electronic systems.
- With guidance, originate specifications, design documents, verification & validation plans& procedures, reports, or other documentation in support of design and development activities
- Responsible for the design and development of products and providing solutions to problems with analog and digital electronic circuits.
2)Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•Design new products and modify existing products to support customer, manufacturing, applicable regulatory and industry standards, and market requirements.
•Perform analog design, analysis, laboratory tests & trouble shooting, simulation, stress analysis, worst-case analysis and field evaluations to assure compliance to customer and industry requirements; prepare the documents required to define the products (drawings, BOMs, reports, calculations, etc) and show verification of analysis.
•Support Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and support reliability analysis.
•Participate on multi-discipline concurrent development and corrective action teams. Work with other engineering disciplines (mechanical, optics, quality, and manufacturing) to optimize designs, identify cost trade-offs and achieve successful product integration.
•Prepare, review, and approve the documentation required to define control products. Prepare design proposals to present to customer once concept is finalized. Support design reviews, both external and internal customers as required.
•Evaluate design changes for impact to product and schedule. Implement design changes through ECO process.
•Coordinate and support the prototype manufacturing of new products.
•Support creation and implementation of test procedures for products based on requirements and customer specifications. Provide test and evaluation support including input to ATP and QTP test plans and procedures. Monitor testing and analyze data to verify performance of the prototype product to design and customer specifications. Review and approve test reports.
•Conduct failure analysis examinations and prepare Failure Analysis Reports (FAR) of findings.
•Lead and/or participate in internal Design Reviews. Prepare for and participate in Preliminary Design Reviews (PDRs) and Critical Design Reviews (CDRs).
•Provide technical support to all internal departments, suppliers, and customers as it relates to the product.
•Provide direction on design for EMC issues at the PCB and system level. Review EMC Test plans.
•Experience in analog circuit design, including op-amps & comparators, discretes, ADC/DAC, DC–DC converters, constant current source.
•Experience with LED drive circuits design and Understanding of LED operation.
•Experience in directing PCB layout work and performing PCB layout verifications. Understanding of EMI minimization techniques in PCB layout, thermal management, PCB assembly processes.
•Experience and Hands-On capability with troubleshooting and solving problems related to circuit and system failures, EMI compliance, ESD immunity, RF Emissions, power line anomalies, etc.
•Experience with digital design including discrete logic circuits, PLD/CPLD, FPGA, microcontroller/DSP, digital bus communication is a plus but not required.
•Hands-on experience in prototype circuit verifications.
•Hands-on experience with typical electrical test & measurement equipment.
•Ability to demonstrate analytical problem solving
•Strong project management and organization skills.
•Timeliness of estimates and reports for engineering projects.
•Strong communication skills with emphasis on technical writing and presentation.
•Ability to build prototype hardware for test and evaluation.
•Ability to function in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision, while performing multiple tasks.
Candidate skills & requirements
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from a regionally accredited institution
-Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications (we would like candidates to meet these requirements):
-Proficiency in Cadence OrCAD schematic capture & PCB Designer, PADS, and PSpice (or LTSpice)
-Knowledge of Enovia or other PDM system for documentation control and workflow
-Knowledge of industry standards: DO-160, MIL-STD-810, etc.
-Structured problem solving techniques and DFSS
-Experience in Matlab / Simulink
