This is a Lead I Stress Analyst position in the Completions engineering group. Responsibilities involve supervising the activities of a team of employees and contractors; conducting performance reviews, coordinating activities for assigned personnel, establishing and communicating clear performance expectations, and reviewing analysis, reports, and Finite Element models. Individual must have sufficient experience and skills necessary to train and mentor others in aircraft interior stress analysis and to review the work of others for accuracy and quality.
Responsibilities include performing stress analysis and related activities for new and derivative designs of interior furnishings and amenities as part of outfitting new aircraft. This includes review of Engineering drawings, preparing load calculations and writing stress reports in collaboration with the Structural Engineering group and Structural AR's providing approvals. Example designs include custom cabinetry such as galleys, lavatories, closets and other storage compartments, interior peripheries, water/waste systems, entertainment equipment installations, and seating installations. Additional responsibilities include aircraft level analysis such as decompression analysis. Analysis is done utilizing Classical hand analysis and Finite Element Modeling using FEMAP with Nastran. Analysis of airframe modifications to meet requirements of the interior installation is also involved.
Must have a thorough working knowledge of Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations (14CFR - especially Chapter I, Part 25), as it pertains to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulation procedures and the STC process as it relates to certification of Aircraft Interiors.
Candidates should have a sufficient knowledge of CATIA V5 to adequately review engineering designs. FEA experience required. Experience with FEMAP and Nastran preferred.
Assignments are executed under the direction of the Engineering Group Head or Manager to meet Engineering, Certification and manufacturing schedules. Analysis methods and design standards to be employed are consistent with company standards and accepted methods. Additional responsibilities are outlined in the job description and as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelors degree in engineering, a related curriculum, or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. See Other Requirements in Job Description. 5 years related engineering experience with Bachelors. Experience credit will be considered for related advance degrees limited to 2 years for Masters Degree and 4 years for PhD in fields applicable to this job position.
Executes engineering tasks of moderate complexity with predetermined performance objectives by providing direction to engineering employees within similar disciplines working within a single department
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Trains new engineers in methods and procedures 6. May be called upon to assist in budget preparation and employee evaluations
