Job Description

The Leadership Development team is looking for a strong leadership development professional to help realize American’s vision of restoring the company to the greatest airline in the world! The Leadership Development Specialist is a member of the Leadership Development team, and is part of a broader Talent Development team within the People department. The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of Leadership Development—both as a service and as a business, and will work with others to develop and implement strategies, programs, and technologies that best educate and help prepare leaders to achieve business results. Our team fosters a continuous learning environment with many development opportunities.

Responsibilities / Duties:

  • Manage projects as assigned
  • Participate in, and/or lead the design, construction, implementation, delivery, and analysis of learning solutions that support business objectives
  • Consult with client to assess needs, recommend learning solutions (insource or outsource), design and deliver leadership programs, evaluate and measure effectiveness and impact, and finally follow-up with clients on large initiatives and/or critical programs
  • Partner with others to evaluate, recommend and/or procure course materials, software applications, and teaching tools
  • Manage vendor relationships and work with third-party providers to ensure that they meet organization training goals and objectives
  • Facilitate instructor-led training sessions as needed

 

May also:

  • Partner with leaders to help provide learning solutions for individuals, teams, and/or organizations
  • Identify and analyze leadership development ROI and business impact

Job Qualifications

  • Advanced college degree in instructional design, organizational behavior, education, or related field is highly preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience with learning development, curriculum design, training methodologies, and online education
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Experience facilitating and presenting to groups at all organizational levels
  • Experience managing large projects
