Lean Manufacturing Associate Engineer
The Lean Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for supporting the Phoenix manufacturing vision & strategy. This person will closely work with the Lean Manufacturing Engineers to identify and implement process improvement projects that support the financial and strategic priorities of the organization. The job involves leading site Lean Transformation Kaizen events and supporting cross-functional process improvement projects. This will require working with business leaders and associates across the value stream. Will also work to improve efficiency, quality, profitability, internal communication, & customer experience. This person will help train other associates on lean tools and principles for business processes. Major Responsibilities of the position: - Suport Lean initiatives based on the strategic priorities and needs of the department. - Support project feasibility and business case development, matching projects to the strategic priorities of the organization. Facilitate and drive implementation of process improvements. Conduct A3 Root Cause Problem Solving as part of process improvement and stabilization. Perform detailed process time studies to identify and reduce waste and create Standardized Work documents. Apply principles of Lean, such as Takt Time planning, Single Piece Flow, Pull, Standardized Work, Value Stream Mapping, Visual Factory Management, Continuous Improvement, and Standard Factory. - Provide assistance to functional leaders with planning and implementing Lean projects that tie strongly to business financials - Lead lean projects that cut across various organizational and functional boundaries. - Assist in the identification and removal of barriers to successfully complete projects. - Develop / report key diagnostic operations metrics that identify the core issues. - Conduct Kaizen events using Lean tools to achieve desired results with measurable metrics. - Drive assigned project execution and implementation

Qualification: 0-2+ years Lean Manufacturing related experience; Manufacturing, electronics or aerospace experience preferred Knowledge of and experience with Toyota Production System preferred Must have applied statistics capability; Manufacturing operations skills; Outstanding project management skills; Good understanding of analytical tools and proficiency in root cause problem solving; Training and presentation skills with solid communication capabilities and practices, both oral and written. Excellent organization skills and ability to effectively multi-task in a fast-paced environment. - Due to programs & projects we support, the candidate must be an US Person (US Citizen / Green Card Holder).
Education: BS/BA degree required, Engineering degree preferred
