Role Summary:
The LEAP Process Specialist applies innovative approaches to developing and maintaining high rate production manufacturing processes for Polymeric Composite aircraft engine components. Engineering associated with the manufacturing process. Requires mastery of a body of theoretical knowledge. Requires developed and strong foundation of function skills and knowledge of relevant technologies.

Essential Responsibilities:

The position of the LEAP Process Specialist participates in the planning of projects that support lean product flow to meet cost and quality goals.

In addition, the LEAP Process Specialist will :

* Participate in the review of nonconforming hardware and participates on a multi-functional team to develop RCCA and supports execution

* Communicate project status and issues with operators and support team members on a regular rhythm

* Define and control production process including tooling and equipment. Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipment
* Includes Manufacturing Engineers

* Develop new solutions under guidance and / or in a team setting or based upon precedents in the organizations

* Work together with business leadership at SPB and EB level

* Specify needs, communicate about project approach and present outcomes of research done

* Deliver products as part of a team

* Work on cross functional teams

* Alternatively: Lead analytical and design activities using proven technologies and vested approaches and methods

Qualifications/Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Chemistry from an accredited university or college (Or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Manufacturing)

* Minimum of 3 years of experience in Production Process and Equipment

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT :

* This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of status prior to employment

Desired Characteristics:

* Strong oral and written communication skills

* Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

* Ability to influence others and lead small teams

* Lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact

* Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously

* Effective problem identification and solution skills

* Proven analytical and organizational ability

* Experience with Microsoft Office suite and Computer Aided Design software (Unigraphics preferred)

* Previous experience supporting the manufacturing of Polymeric composite parts

* Six Sigma training and exposure to and participation in Lean Six Sigma initiatives
