Role Overview: Plans, designs and executes activities that are directly related to the physical creation of UTC products and the functional operation of UTC facilities. Contains professional and para-professional disciplines. This position supervises a team of technical / business support and/or production / maintenance employees in Materials & Logistics and sets day-to-day activities involving storing and shipping products. Conducts inventory control and prepares reports and manuals. Provides logistics documentation to establish the range and depth of spares, tools, test equipment and related manuals to be deployed and stocked. Reviews configuration changes to evaluate impact on logistics deployment. Plans, schedules and manages the efficient movement of material from receiving, or the warehouse, to production. Manages material inventory, supplier integration strategies (VMI/3PL/supermarkets) and import/export controls. Partners with Industrial Engineering on packaging strategies. Key responsibilities will include: * Manages Technical / Business Support and/or Production / Maintenance employees * Sets day-to-day operational objectives for team * Ensures practices and procedures are followed by direct reports. * Supervises the activities of workers engaged in receiving, storing, testing, and shipping products or materials to ensure efficient movement of material. * Conducts inventory control, analysis and classification according to material management procedure to ensure effective logistics deployment. * Prepares or directs preparation of correspondence, reports, and operations, maintenance, and safety manuals to establish the range and depth of spares, tools and test equipment. Qualifications: Ideal candidate will: * Have exceptional written and verbal communication skills * Experienced team manager * Be highly efficient and self-motivated * Always be professional * Adhere to policies and implement changes as required * Adapt to competing work priorities * Have a strong focus on continuous improvement * Maintain a keen focus on results Working Environment: * Minimal travel required (<10%) * Willingness to work nonstandard hours * Some Holiday hours may be required based on business need Education/Certifications: * Bachelor’s degree required.
