Job Summary: Operates machine shop equipment to repair and/or restore Delta and customer aircraft landing gear parts to their original serviceable condition. Manufactures or repairs landing gear components to correct tolerance and installs and finishes ream bushings to size. Performs inspections during rework, document maintenance procedures and examines condition of parts or equipment. Utilizes appropriate tools, manuals and chemicals to effectively and efficiently accomplish overhaul-related functions within allotted timeframes without compromising safety and compliance. Travels to repair landing gear in outstations. Assists in workscope, disassembly/assembly, damage removal, shotpeen and paint of Landing Gear parts/components within Delta s TechOps MRO Landing Gear facility. Designs and constructs tooling when required. Practices safety conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.

Job Qualifications: Must have two years of completed technical school or four years of work experience in the set up and operation of boring mills, lathes, CNC lathes, tool grinders and drill presses. May be required to work alternate shifts and days off. Must be willing to perform all aspects of Landing Gear overhaul. Must be able to read and write at a level to comprehend and apply information contained in detailed and complex technical manuals, procedural manuals, blueprints, etc. with little or no assistance. Must be able to read, understand and apply written text of a technical nature. Must be a team player and active participant in identifying process improvements and cost-saving initiatives. Must demonstrate a willingness to practice safe work habits as evidenced through behavior and attitude. Must be able to learn and apply new skills such as shot peen, brush cadmium plating or other tasks related to landing gear overhaul. Must have the ability to respond flexibly to changing or multiple work demands. Must have the ability to work without close supervisory direction and to complete a job without constant assignment of tasks. Should be able to lift 70 lbs.

To qualify for this position you must:

* Have a valid driver's license

* Be at least 18 years of age

* Be able to pass an extensive background check, drug test and audiogram

* Be authorized to work in the US

* Have the ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
