Aerospace Coatings International - Oxford, AL

Minimum of five years experience as a Machinist.  5 years of cylindrical CNC experience and/or lathe experience with knowledge of setting up steady rest strongly preferred.  Should know how to set bore gauges, mics, etc.  Must be able to work with little supervision.  Reading and understanding repairs is a must.  Overtime required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate  machine (Lathe/Mill) properly and maintain machine.
  • Read micrometers, c-micrometers and bore gauges.
  • Center chucks on the machine to accept parts for grinding.
  • Be able to indicate or zero parts on machines.
  • Machine parts according to specifications on Travelers.
  • Use of  power hand tools.
  • Other duties as necessary and assigned.

  • Capacity to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. 
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. 
  • Capable of applying concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Able to read blue prints.

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
  • At least 5 years of traditional machine shop experience running mills, lathes, hones, jig grinders.
  • CNC knowledge strongly preferred.
  • Job shop or tool and die work history preferred
