Maintenance Controller
General Summary

Maintenance Controllers are primarily responsible for determining the priority of action. They must support those priorities in relation to the principle maintenance facility, line stations and contract agencies regarding maintenance requirements; ensuring maintenance and operational requirements are met and the timely dispatch of airworthy aircraft.


Essential Job Functions

· Ensure greatest fleet utilization without compromising safety

· Communicate with flight crews and maintenance personnel to ascertain the nature of all in service maintenance discrepancies

· Notify the Director of Quality Control (DQC) and the Director of Maintenance Operations (DOMO) of any occurrence that is out of the norm

· Initiate and coordinate actions necessary to address discrepancies of maintenance events at Line Stations and Outstations

· Issue maintenance to Outside Maintenance Vendors and maintain control of the event

· Maintain a log of activities and irregularities by way of a daily Maintenance

· Control Summary and the complete and accurate entries on the summary

· Control and issue all deferrals whether MEL, MCO, CDL or NEF

· Coordinate all Ferry Flights and Test Flights

· Act on behalf of the Maintenance Planner in planner’s absence

· Notify the Maintenance Planner, and all other appropriate personnel, of any discrepancy, condition, or irregularity that may affect the airworthiness of the company's fleet

· This identification process is not limited to the above and also applies to any non-regulatory condition that affects the overall efficient operation of the company

· Provide, and receive a quality shift turnover

· Conduct other duties as assigned


Knowledge Skills and Abilities

· Basic Knowledge of Saab 340 preferred

· 3+ years aviation experience in maintenance control capacity preferred


Education and Experience

· Must possess a valid Airframe and Power Plant FAA Airman’s Certificate


Physical Requirements

Sight: Must be able to see well enough to read reports

Hearing: Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with customers, vendors and team members.

Standing/Walking: Must be able to move about department

Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling: Must be able to stoop or kneel to pick up paper products

Lifting/Pulling/Pushing: Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds repeatedly

Manual Dexterity: Must be able to type and use technical sources

Working Conditions: Normal working conditions absent extreme factors
