***Rotational 4/12 work schedule - 7am-7pm for two days, 7pm-7am the next two days, four days off
Job Description Summary : Responsible for trouble shooting, performing repairs and preventive maintenance inspections on all production machinery, production systems and plant support equipment with minimum supervision
Full knowledge of all aspects of facility maintenance including: inspection, predictive, preventative and corrective maintenance of electro-mechanical production and process equipment.
Proficient in the adjustment and repair of at least three of the following: NC and CNC equipment; hydraulics, pneumatics, AC/DC electrical, electronics (PLC/DCS), boilers and cooling towers, general plumbing and/or HVAC.
Proficient in systematic trouble shooting / root cause analysis to determining appropriate repair methods.
May support in training new employees/staff, coordinating others' tasks and resolving technical issues.
Use appropriate equipment and tools to perform job functions safely.
Install, repair, and rebuild production machinery, production systems and plant support equipment as required.
Diagnose mechanical and electrical malfunctions on equipment by using standard trouble shooting techniques and drawings, instructions manuals and schematics.
Perform periodic preventive maintenance on equipment and make recommendations for corrective action.
Customer focused. Able and willing to work cooperatively and collaboratively with production and engineering teams to maximize production capacity.
Responsible for notifying supervision when spare parts and supply inventories are low and make recommendation for quantities required.
Use precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, vernier calipers; dial indicators and meters to assist in the diagnostics and repair of equipment.
Perform general pipe fitting tasks, plumbing tasks and electrical tasks as required to maintain the facility and production equipment.
Must operate a forklift when required.
Perform other duties and assignments which include: water treatment, chemical and spill management, minor fork lift repairs, building repairs and assisting peers.
Report all accidents, incidents, and injuries, as well as unsafe work conditions or practices to supervisor immediately. Participate in safety campaigns, meetings, ralleys, and programs on inspections and ensure responsible housekeeping in area of responsibility.
Comply with all Carbon Products EH&S policies and procedures, including personal protective equipment use, housekeeping standards, and EH&S training requirements.
Able and willing to prioritize continuous improvement activities (e.g. ACE / Lean).
Responsibly and safely handling of hazardous materials when assigned.
Basic Qualifications : High School Diploma is required.
Forklift operators permit and safety awareness training.
Min. 3 years of journeyman level with electro-mechanical repair experience.
Working in an EH&S excellence environment with full compliance.
Experience working in a fast paced production environment.
Good troubleshooting using technical manuals
Machine repair using basic handtools
Basic computer skills (e.g. data entry, email, machine interface etc)
Good communication and organization skills
Able to follow medium to mildy complex procedures
Able to read, write and comprehend in English
Good teamwork across multiple shifts
Good problem solving skills and bias for action
Must be able to lift 50 pounds
Must be able to wear a dust mask and fume respirator
Possess physical and mental dexterity
Must be able to climb
Must be able to work around a dust and chemical environment.
Will come in contact with chemicals used for manufacturing a product or used as a cleaning agent.
Must be able to work above or below ground level.
Must be U.S. Citizen and/U.S. Permanent Resident.
