Position Summary

Reporting to the Associate Director, Strategic Passenger Influence, this position is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to support Toronto Pearson’s growth to achieve Mega Hub status, by: utilizing various pieces of data and analysis to identify and prioritize market opportunities within Toronto Pearson’s North American and Global Catchment; evaluate connecting market opportunities; understand current route performance and health; support the development of business cases to strengthen and grow air services.

Job Description

Key Accountabilities:

* Connect various pieces of data and analysis to drive insights and identify opportunities; lead collaborative team efforts to analyze and evaluate market opportunities best aligned to GTAA’s Mega Hub Strategy

* Manage a variety of targeted research and data analysis initiatives supporting Global Hub Development’s priorities and objectives

* Understand and interpret route performance, stay informed of service changes, manage and track air service performance against corporate goal targets; communicate insights within Global Hub Development Team – and beyond (as required) – to align, inform and guide

* Develop and prepare comprehensive briefs relating to target markets, airlines and industry matters

* Support the development of comprehensive business cases, for various catchment and global market development initiatives

* Lead inter-departmental team to create GTAA’s incentive program commensurate with Global Hub Development’s priorities and GTAA’s Mega Hub Strategy; budget and track actual incentive, review and adjust on an annual basis as needed

* Stay abreast of market trends such as airline mergers, air policy shifts, major economic/political environment changes

* Work closely and collaboratively within the Global Hub Development Team, Strategy Department, and across the full GTAA organization; solidly contribute to team goals and objectives, share unique perspectives, proactively evaluate opportunities and challenge assumptions

* Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

* Post-Secondary degree in Business, Economics, Mathematics or Aviation, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; Post-Graduate degree is a benefit

* 3-5 years experience in business development or strategy

* Thrive both in collaborative team environments and working independently

* Demonstrated ability and drive to produce high-impact results

* Must be able to obtain and retain a Transportation Security Clearance and a Valid Passport

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

* Strong analytical skills and solid ability to draw conclusions from various analysis

* Curious problem solving and ability to creatively utilize data sets in ways to extract unique insights

* Healthy understanding and interest in the aviation industry

* Resourceful, self-motivated and strong communicator; solid team player

* Proficient skills in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically excel; familiarity with industry data tools and software
