Manages all aspects of daily HA catering operations and staff, including:
Managing daily catering activities of HNL hub catering kitchen as well as all other catering kitchens system-wide to ensure efficient, accurate, quality performance by our catering vendors,
Overseeing HA catering team including day-to-day operations staff and galley planning and loading staff, and
Ensuring program compliance for 24/7 catering operations activities related to safety, security, quality and timely delivery of products and equipment to the aircraft.
Overseeing and optimizing key vendor SLA strategy and ensure consistent and continuous monitoring of the program with regular reporting and communication to stakeholders
Managing pre-purchase meal program operations
Manage catering direct report staff scheduling and team performance and development
Provide support to day-to-day catering operations in conjunction with catering operations staff, including:
Flight schedules, aircraft swaps, menu changes, catering equipment requirements,
Supporting irregular operations and non-scheduled operations/IRROPs and communicate with impacted kitchens on changes,
Facilitating participation by ops staff in regular interdepartmental operations meetings (safety, security, FEC, etc.),
Managing participation in daily ops calls and work with operations team to coordinate catering operations with the broader ops group, and
Assisting new station location startups with training in loading and equipment needs.
Create, produce and maintain all operations reports to communicate departmental performance
Manage kitchen communications processes including creation and distribution of catering alerts
Support and collaborate in process development, process improvement and continuous communication with other areas of the catering and product development departments, including supply chain, IFE, service, cabin sales and interiors
Coordinate operations of third party providers for snack cart and IFE cart with catering kitchen and total operation
Audit for kitchen compliance in all aspects of operational procedures
Monitors all aspects of Catering Security Operations including audit reports, procedural changes & investigation of incidents
Develop & maintain communication documents relative to HA fleet, projected monthly flight schedules, kitchen contacts & Catering Operations Manual
Facilitate improvements in overall IRROPs procedures
College degree or equivalent experience
At least 3 years’ airline operations and/or catering experience
Demonstrated experience in managing operations teams
Demonstrated ability to provide strong leadership and collaboration across cross-functional teams
Positive attitude and demonstrated tenacity; exceptional professionalism
AOA badge qualification
Demonstrated ability to multi-task and manage tight deadlines
Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel
Strong communication skills
