- Primary responsibility to maintain, revise and author documentation and compliance disposition for Configuration Control articles, including but not limited to:
- ICA Documents (AMM, IPC, WD, Schematic Manual)
- Airworthiness Directive management
- Service Bulletin and Alert Bulletin management
- Boeing Toolbox - Library
- Author, revise, prepare, review and approve documentation changes to comply with Instructions for Continued Airworthiness requirements, incorporating aircraft configuration procedures and parts information into AMMs, IPCs, WD and WD Schematic manuals. Issues timely Maintenance Alerts/Tips and/or bulletins as needed.
- Ensure HAL aircraft maintenance documentation reflects the most current configuration data for our maintenance and engineering department’s use.
- Proactively manage team to ensure timely review and incorporation of data from OEM, Engineering, MROs, suppliers and any other source of aircraft configuration change data.
- Ensure proper upfront coordination with project engineers and focals occur for large projects, participating in Preliminary Design Reviews and Critical Design Reviews, to gather information needed to revise affected aircraft documentation in a timely manner, reflecting changed configuration of the aircraft.
- Review OEM bulletins and letters to determine if applicable procedures can be improved or customized for effective and efficient implementation
- Ensure the appropriate safety, cautions, tooling, and references are called out in approved documentation procedures and sections.
- Ensure a robust method of checking proposed revisions is accomplished before publishing documentation revisions.
- Responsible to establish and maintain a publishing schedule for Maintenance Documentation, which includes advertising cut-off dates for changes to be submitted, in order to help maintain publication schedule.
- Responsible for all aspects of the Library functionality within Boeing Toolbox
- Ensure Airworthiness Directives, Service and Alert Bulletins are received and dispositioned by HAL, and follow-on compliance or incorporation detail is accurately tracked and recorded. Hold regular Tech Review Group meetings to ensure stakeholder AD/SB review and disposition plan is accomplished. Coordinate with Warranty and Contracts group to ensure parts/labor warranty claims are pursued, when applicable.
- Professional Development of team members in the group and other related duties as assigned by Senior Director – Engineering.
- B.S. in Engineering with at least 8 years' experience in the aviation maintenance industry, or an advanced degree and 3-5 years of relevant airline maintenance experience. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, 10+ years of airline maintenance program experience, some of which was in a leadership capacity, may be considered.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of commercial aviation experience with FAR 121, in the field of Aircraft Maintenance, Engineering, Quality Assurance, or Regulatory Compliance.
- A&P certificate preferred.
- Must be able to work flexible hours and on-call when required.
- Must have a demonstrated familiarity with FAR Part 21 and Part 145 operations.
- Must possess strong organizational and prioritization skills, a demonstrated ability of acting as an effective change agent, as well as good oral and written communications and interpersonal skills.
- Possesses a contagious, positive attitude – creatively finds a way to get things accomplished without compromising on safety and efficiency. Takes a proactive approach in finding a better way of doing things. Cultivates a continuous improving culture within his/her team.
- Ability to set priorities and manage multiple projects to balance work within the group, ensuring important technical updates are provided to maintenance documentation in an expeditious manner.
- Provide engineering documentation support, as required, for M&E teams repairing aircraft. Must communicate effectively. Must improve upon documentation revision processes that are untimely or ineffective.
- Must be knowledgeable on aircraft systems, have experience in writing clear and concise aircraft maintenance procedures and practices for Mechanics to follow.
- Excellent knowledge of common MS Office suite of tools. Working knowledge of TRAX is desired (but not a requirement).
- Valid driver’s license
- Proven ability to lead others in an effective and productive way. Ability to get things done in a fast paced environment, with multiple customers, deadlines and priorities.
