Position Summary

Reporting to the Director, Business Intelligence, this position is responsible for providing forecasts to the Greater Toronto Airport Authority to enable the organization to make critical decision that will be instrumental in meet its long and short term strategic targets and objects of becoming a Global Mega Hub and the best airport in the world.

Job Description

* Support key strategic initiatives as directed by the CEO and VP, Strategy, which can include assessing new business opportunities, strategic assessment of possible acquisitions and divestitures and other strategic issues

* Producing annual demand forecasts and probabilities for passengers including by terminal, sector, residency and flow, cargo, MTOW aircraft movements and ground access vehicles

* Producing monthly short-term forecasts to support the GTAA’s business and financial planning and performance measurement

* Recruiting and managing internal and external consultants as well as vendors

* Managing staff of up to 2 individuals in Strategy Department

* Preparing and presenting narratives supporting the forecasts to the Executive Team and other business partners and government agencies

* Ensuring each GTAA department has the forecast products it needs, and developing new ones if necessary

* Forecasting demand for air travel in the GTA, other catchment areas and target markets in North America and overseas

* Providing forecasts in aid of other Strategy groups e.g. long-term planning, strategy development and global hub development

* Remaining current in the theory and best practices in demand forecasting including Developing and maintaining a calendar of forecast production and delivery and project managing to it

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

* Bachelor Degree in Economics, Business or equivalent with a strong focus in statistics

* 3 to 5 years of Leadership experience, preferably in a matrix organization

* Strong experience creating forecasts and creating complex forecast models ideally in a large industrial or transportation environment

* Strong Facilitation and Presentation skills to senior and executive level audiences

* Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with a variety of constituent groups both internally and externally

* Experience creating and presenting to senior managers

* Proficient using Excel and Econometric software systems such as E-views

* Must be able to obtain and retain a Transportation Security Clearance

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

* High degree of initiative, creativity, curiosity and tenacity

* Ability to interpret and translate forecasts into meaningful stories

* Exceptional personal drive and motivation

* Strong facilitation and negotiation skills

* Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks and projects

* Problem solving skills to identify, analyze and resolve issues

* Exceptionally strong interpersonal and communication skills to establish, foster and maintain relationships with clients, co-workers and others
