Key Responsibilities:

*

Using the Corporate and Division strategic plans, work with the Supervisor group to develop and implement the plans for the base.

*

Provide daily updates of operational performance and mitigation strategies. Proactively review production targets, escalate issues that will impact on time delivery timelines with proposed solutions to mitigate delays.

*

Lead to ensure an understanding of MRO operations, 3rd party customer requirements and continuous improvement.

*

Organize and lead regular meetings with direct reports and staff to communicate items of interest. Use such meetings to communicate corporate values and performance, expectations and accountability.

*

Define training, development and improvement requirements for direct reports and implement plans accordingly.

*

Support supervisors with follow up on regular corporate support systems such as Attendance Management Program, Personnel training etc.

*

Define, develop and regularly review metrics related to safety, quality, production, delivery commitments (e.g. scheduling, event turn times, MRO OTP) and costs for the Base. Ensure that these measures are supported by related metrics at all levels within the organization.

*

Review ongoing activities and ensure that operations continue to be safe, reliable, cost effective and competitive with alternative service providers.

*

Work with HR, Finance, Technical Training local technical schools, etc., as needed to determine and maintain appropriate manpower levels and required skills.

*

Coaching and mentoring of Supervisors.

*

Work with the local labour groups to ensure contract guidelines are followed in areas such as shift bids, vacation, overtime etc.

*

Routinely carry out reviews of the annual base budget and update the budget as required for changes in the business plan using current information and trends.

*

Review monthly spending reports for accuracy and monies spent and complete variances reporting as required.

*

Develop business plans for changes in activity levels including increases or reductions in manpower complement and increase or reduction in house capability.

*

Coach Supervisors in areas of financial management, budgets and development of business plans.

*

Other related duties as assigned.

*

Perform duties in accordance with established policies and procedures while giving primary consideration to personal safety, the safety of co-workers and customers. Hold direct reports accountable for these policies.

Qualifications:

*

Post-Secondary Degree in Aircraft Maintenance.

*

Minimum 10 years’ experience in Aircraft Maintenance with at least two years’ experience in Management position supervising airline maintenance or related production activities with demonstrated success.

*

Demonstrated ability to define, develop, implement and utilize metrics appropriate to area of responsibility including basic knowledge of appropriate measurements and statistics.

*

Previous responsibility for budgeting and budget accountability.

*

Demonstrated ability to use common management software including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

*

Demonstrated ability to motivate employees and hold them accountable for meeting commitments.

*

Knowledge of SMS and applicable regulations related to airline maintenance, airworthiness, employee safety, labour and environmental issues.

*

Demonstrated ability of working within a Unionized workforce.

*

Knowledge on company aircraft types an asset.
