Responsible for the leadership (24 x 7) of the day-to-day logistics support network required to operate and maintain support of Delta Technical Operations. Ensures adequate staffing and manpower utilization in addition to identifying needs and priority of projects required for operational focus.
Provide leadership and strategic direction for up to 10 direct reports in a regional territory which includes multiple stations. Responsible for TechOps operational support in up to 10 logistics stockrooms in Line Maintenance and staffed locations.
Oversees and ensures the proper receipt, storage and shipping of parts in a timely and efficient manner according to established policies and procedures. Provides technical knowledge in the research, analysis and resolution of logistics issues.
Also oversees coordination and follow up on movement and shipment of parts. Includes expediting parts movement to and from stock, shops, line stations and coordination of shipments with vendors.
Additional responsibilities include administrative functions such as human resources, budgeting, equipment and site selection, customer service, and coordination of required training.
The Regional Mgr Logistics is responsible for overall performance of an assigned group of franchised locations. This position assists in monitoring overall customer satisfaction and overall operational performance for their assigned region. This position also analyzes performance and provides feedback, guidance, training and encouragement in order to positively impact operational performance results.
Additional responsibilities include maintaining regular communication with assigned locations, developing and assisting new or improved operational policies and procedures.
Must be able to build effective business partnerships within Delta and outside.
Must be able/willing to travel as required.
Three years' experience in warehousing logistics or inventory management or related field, with at least 2 years of airline related inventory control experience.
College degree or equivalent or equivalent experience is desired.
Knowledge in foreign languages, international relations, Microsoft programs, SAP, SCEPTRE, IATA Dangerous Goods regulations and customs regulations strongly desired.
Must have strong business acumen, statistical and analytical skills.
Must be able to present complex material in a concise but comprehensive manner to Sr. Leadership.
Candidate must be able to develop annual strategy plans for TechOps Distribution and Logistics Goals and Objectives, Productivity Measurements, Team Building and Succession Planning.
Experience in developing business and operating plans is highly desired
Should have the ability to identify, evaluate and refine functional results to improve the internal customer and TechOps MRO customer experience.
Logistics certification is preferred.
