Responsible for leading and directing the creative team on all aspects related to the art direction and design of advertising and promotional material, video and web-based media, brand identity elements, images and other various marketing assets through the utilization of leading-edge design technology. Leads the team in developing creative concepts that are out of the box and work within brand guidelines to immerse and engage the identified target audience.
Produces original, contemporary designs, layouts, graphics, logos and illustrations to support marketing communication and branding efforts across Delta's system. Responsible for evaluating opportunities to produce world-class creative within the Delta environment with the required integration of any external agency partners.
Manages designers and traffic manager to ensure that the proper execution of creative direction and brand standards are upheld. Develops, leads and assesses the designers to ensure their continued growth.
This role is roughly one-third managing & leading the creative team, one-third design and production, and one-third working with internal clients.
Core responsibilities include:
Meeting the needs of internal clients through requirements definition, ideation, creative development and execution
Day-to-day oversight and management of designers and traffic manager to ensure that brand standards and creative vision are executed correctly
Bringing creative ideas to life through designed assets and elements
Prioritization, coordination and management of multiple projects and initiatives
Storage, archival and retrieval of existing and newly produced designs and graphical assets
Balancing the creative and cool with the logistically feasible and operationally sound.
Remaining aware and responsive to strategic issues that influence design development (e.g., functional/image criteria)
Developing preliminary concepts into refined, comprehensive design solutions (e.g., graphic, environmental, retail)
Bachelor's degree, MBA or equivalent job experience/education required. Master's degree in quantitative field preferred (Communications, Marketing, Graphic Design, Art, or Journalism)
6-8 years of design and leadership experience
3 years' experience managing a team of graphic designers, art directors, etc.
Technical skills require a proficiency in a wide range of software programs to create electronic documents that meet office production standards, specifically the Adobe Creative Suite, including Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects and Premiere Pro, as well as HTML 5, and CSS
Proven experience in copywriting, editing (photo/video/text) digital advertising, UX, video and email campaigns
Demonstrated ability to effectively develop and deliver creative solutions and content
Exceptional organization, management, and execution on all projects
Must have excellent analytical, project management skills and be solution-oriented
Works well under pressure in a fast paced environment with ability to multi-task
Must be able to lead and work collaboratively and excel in a cross-functional environment with excellent interpersonal skills
Proven excellence in written and oral communication skills
Demonstrates initiative, detail oriented, self-motivated, and passion for driving insights to impact
Extensive industry knowledge and experience with industry data sources is required
Must be performing satisfactorily in current position
