  • Investigate reported safety hazards at any Frontier facility and develop any needed corrective action/mitigation plan (15%)
  • Respond to inquiries/investigations by regulatory agencies (15%)
  • Oversee the Aircraft Safe Drinking Water Program, ensure appropriate data are entered in the EPA ARCS database, and provide liaison with EPA (15%)
  • Develop environmental impact and public controversy statements for submission to FAA for new destination cities (10%)
  • Ensure that all Frontier employees involved with hazardous materials are properly trained and certified (10%)
  • Work with Human Resources on analysis of employee injuries and strategies for their reduction (10%)
  • Conduct incident investigations related to employee injury, damage to ground equipment or facilities (10%)
  • Assist other Frontier departments in risk analysis and mitigation of hazards under the Frontier Safety Management System (SMS) (5%)
  • Perform facility inspections to ensure proper storage and disposal of hazardous materials (5%)
  • Manage the Hazardous Materials Voluntary Disclosure Reporting Program (5%)

 

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Three to five years of work experience in hazardous materials, EPA ARCS, FDA, or OSHA compliance
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution of higher learning or equivalent work experience
  • Thorough knowledge of FAA regulations regarding transport of hazardous materials and dangerous goods
  • Three to five years of experience in workplace safety in an air carrier operational environment preferred
  • Experience in development of environmental impact and public controversy statements for FAA submission preferred
  • Knowledge of OSHA workplace safety regulations
  • Familiarity with FAA Operation Specifications
  • Familiarity with Safety Management System (SMS)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Excellent written report skills
  • Ability to establish positive working relationships within Frontier and with government agencies
  • Ability to travel to Frontier locations to perform audits (up to 10%)
