Manager of Flight Safety Purpose:  The Manager of Flight Safety position is responsible for planning, implementing, directing, controlling, evaluating and
coordinating the Company’s flight safety program(s) to cover flight operations, cabin services and training. The program

includes, at a minimum, management of the Aircraft Accident Prevention Program, Flight Operations Quality Assurance

(FOQA) Program, Flight Data Analysis (FDA) Program, and Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) as well as all flight

safety awareness campaigns. They shall manage the handling of safety reports including safety-related journey reports and

flight incident reports and shall ensure that corrective actions pertaining to flight operations and cabin services are

implemented. Preferred Qualifications and Experience:  Must be an active FAA Certificated Pilot or Dispatcher;  Must successfully complete the following training courses or its equivalent within 1 year from induction into Manager of
Flight Safety position, or as soon as practicable: o Safety Management System (SMS) including risk management; o Aircraft Accident Investigation Course; o CRM for Pilots; o Threat & Error Management; o Aviation Quality Database; o Flight Data Analysis Course; o Airfraft ground school (Dash 8, and B-1900) o At least 2 Management courses;  Has relevant operational and safety experience in flight operations;  Credibility as a Pilot or Dispatcher must be unquestionable;  Sufficiently familiar with airline safety and regulatory standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:
 Establishes and maintains a comprehensive Flight Safety Program that includes aircraft accident prevention and ensures its

implementation to fit the requirements of flight operations, cabin services and their associated training programs;  Manages the Flight Operations Quality Assurance (FOQA) Program;  Manages the Flight Data Analysis (FDA) Program;  Creates and Manages the Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP);  Manages the handling of safety reports of flight events/hazards and directs the coordination of the formulation,
implementation and dissemination of corrective/preventive action;  Manages the conduct of periodic flight safety checks and safety surveys to determine the adequacy and continuity of the
Company’s flight safety programs, policies and objectives and recommend revisions thereof;  Manages Safety Management System (SMS) change management reports of Flight Operation Safety Action Group (FSAG)
and Cabin Safety Action Group (CSAG) including the coordination of its formulation, implementation and dissemination of
action plans;  Reviews and recommends changes in the flight deck and cabin crew training curricula to enhance flight safety;  Directs the preparation and dissemination of safety bulletins, accident reviews, safety critical information and generic safety
information to promote flight safety consciousness among flight and ground personnel;  Assists the Vice President of Safety Programs in conducting investigations and/or directs investigation of minor aircraft
incidents/accidents, determination of casual factors, and recommendation of corrective/preventive measures and
coordination for the formulation and implementation of corrective/preventive actions;  Acts as the secretary of the FSAG and CSAG;  Represents the Departments Head on matters pertaining to flight safety programs and issues the objective of informing all
corporate and government agencies on the department’s position;

 Complies with applicable regulations and standards of the airline; remains actively involved with the Safety Management
System (SMS) by reporting all accidents, incidents, and any hazards in the workplace; and being safety conscious by
exercising duty of care in the performance of duties;  Assist the Vice President of Safety Programs in conducting audits and/or evaluations, and supports the timely resolution of
quality audit results and implementation of process improvements;  Performs all other functions as may be directed by Vice President of Safety Programs.
