Summary/Objective:  The Manager of Pilot Recruiting will be responsible for executing the Pilot talent strategy for experienced (have the requisite hours to be hired immediately) and pipeline (cultivating relationships with not yet qualified candidates that will likely become qualified in next 6-12 months) candidates to meet business pilot hiring needs. This person will report directly to the Director of Pilot Recruiting and manage a team of 2 direct reports and 21 part-time pilot recruiting resources.
 
Essential Functions:  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Develop and execute rotating monthly multi-pronged sourcing plans (job boards, social media, events, ad campaigns, competitive blitzes, etc.)
  • Building out talent networks, influencers and industry sources to develop an on-going pool of pilot candidates.
  • Seek out opportunities for key note speaking, blog writing, professional journal publishing that promotes pilot careers at PSA·         
  • Deploy resources and attend targeted career events that draw experienced pilots.
  • Proactively network with internal stakeholders to build a strong pilot referral program that attracts quality candidates.
  • Ensure a positive candidate experience is maintained throughout the sourcing process and high touch candidate experience exists throughout the interview and offer/onboarding process that will differentiate PSA from their competitors. 
  • Collaborate with on-site interview teams and support the offer and negotiation process.
  • Establish with the Director of Pilot Recruiting, recruiting program metrics and monitor to ensure program success.
  • Is responsible for ensuring the Newton system is utilized to maintain pilot candidate data throughout the recruiting process
  • Prepare executive updates on recruiting status, by highlighting successes and recommend areas for potential improvement.
  • Serve as a member of the Pilot Recruiting Ambassador Forum.
  • Ensure Human Resources policies, processes and practices are executed consistently across the organization
  • Other projects as assigned.
 
Competencies and Knowledge:  The successful candidate should have demonstrated skills in the following:  excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills; influence; approachability; performance and time management; problem-solving; creative and passionate about pilot hiring and interested in redefining how experienced pilots are attracted; excellent communication (verbal and written) skills; organized and detail-oriented; ability to work with minimal supervision in a team environment; professional aptitude; multi-tasking and ability to operate in a constantly changing environment, to work through ambiguity quickly and proactively.
 
Supervisory Responsibility:  This position has supervisory responsibilities.
 
Work Environment:  This job operates in a professional office environment.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, facsimile machines and filing cabinets.
 
Physical Demands:  The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 
 
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.  The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; climb up and down stairs; lift weight up to 25 lbs; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
 
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:  This is a full-time position with an expectation of occasional evening and weekend hours as job duties demand. 
 
Travel:  Travel is required of this position, up to 50% as needed to attend career and hiring in off-site locations to meet with pilot candidates.
 
Required Education and Experience:  Minimum of two years of experience in recruiting experienced pilots.  First Officer or have successfully completed all the requirements of a First Officer preferred, or have extensive recruiting experience in the airline or related industry.  Knowledge of or ability to learn and utilize applicant tracking systems, CRM tools and virtual recruiting tools.  Ability to use or learn how to use online screening tools and technology to build efficiencies into the overall recruiting process.  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.  Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office software:  Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
 
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:  Must have necessary hours and qualifications under the ATP requirements or the restricted ATP requirements or 5 years of recruiting experience in the airline or related industry
 
Security Clearance:  All employees are required to pass the fingerprint-based criminal history records check (CHRC) per 49CFR1542.209.
