Job Description

Responsible for leading purchasing department and supply chain management initiatives. Works with internal customers to understand their requirements.  Establishes department goals to reduce cost and improve service levels.   Responsible for research, analyses, development and management of RFPs for procurement of aircraft spare parts  and equipment.  Analyzes bid responses, develops sound strategies and negotiating positions and leads supplier negotiations.  Prepares recommendations for final terms and program award.  Records contract details in system, disseminates terms to Buyers and tracks performance to terms.  Initiates and maintains beneficial business relationships for the company with suppliers of spare parts and services.  Responsible for resolving commercial issues, claims, or disputes.  Develops and implements procedures consistent with regulations and contractual obligations.  Assesses current business processes and interfaces and leads efforts for improvements.  Recruits, develops and leads team members to deliver timely, measurable and tangible results.  Responsible for handling, processing, and protecting confidential data and representing the company and department in a professional, ethical manner.

Job Requirements

Position Requirements

  • Minimum Age: 18
  • College degree or equivalent amount of relevant work experience
  • Broad understanding of the airline industry
  • Strong, successful supply chain management experience 
  • Must be able to understand contracts, correspondence, and technical data
  • Must be an advanced user of PC applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Proven problem solving, forecasting, and strong financial analysis skills  
  • Successful negotiating experience, including problem resolution
  • Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently, manage competing priorities and complete projects on schedule
  • Proven leadership skills to lead, motivate and develop employees
  • Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, with all levels of management, both internal and external to the Company
  • Strong presentation skills 
  • Occasional travel is required
  • Ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language
  • Possess the legal right to work in the United States

 

Position Preferences

  • Specific knowledge of aircraft parts and services

 

Additional Position Details

  • Must fulfill FAA criminal background checks to qualify for unescorted access privileges to airport security identification display areas (SIDA), if applicable.
  • Must be able to secure appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badges, if applicable.
  • Federal law requires Envoy to determine an applicant's history of Department of Transportation (DOT) drug and/or alcohol violation(s) or refusal(s) to test before hiring him/her into a safety-sensitive position; this position may be subject to DOT.
