Overview

The position plays a focal role managing applications and services that support training operations. As part of a highly collaborative team, the role will interact with many technical and business resources across the enterprise. The ideal candidate is a committed, creative, self-motivated technologist who is interested in practicing his or her skills and learning new ones.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

* Manage and oversee in-house, contract/remote developers​
* Architect and develop solutions to deliver custom functionality in existing AS/400 and PHP platforms
* Evolve products to ensure platforms are maintainable and conform to standards
* Refactor solutions to reduce complexity, and simplify maintenance
* Refactor implementations to standardize on an event driven architecture
* ​Refactor web application and services to be completely stateless and cloud ready
* Ensure platform is open and integrates with other applications
* Modernize product end-user and integration points
* Educate and guide business in best practices​​
* Support deployed platforms in production​
* Ensure that process and knowledge is sytematically documented
* Complete other tasks as required
* Provide 24x7 on-call support, after hours and weekend work as needed​​​

Experience, Education and Skills

* 5+ years of hands-on management of technical team members
* 3+ years managing vendors and contractors, timesheet approvals, contract SLAs and KPIs
* 5+ years experience in the WAMP stack
* 3+ years experience with .NET platform and MVC experience
* 3+ years experience in one or more Javascript libraries - JQuery, Knockout, Angular
* Strong knowledge of web service models: SOAP, OData, REST​
* ​Experience with SQL Server​
* Knowledge of AS/400 DB2 preferred​​​
* Experience with TFS and Git​
* Experience with agile methodologies: SCRUM
* Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent industry experience​
* Travel as required
