Position Expectations 


Position Summary

The Manager Training Scheduling oversees the scheduling of learners and resources for JetBlue University training using a customer-focused approach.  The Manager will partner closely with the training records and JBU administration teams, as well as JetBlue University colleges to ensure all scheduling needs are met.    

Essential Responsibilities

  • Manages the construction of the training schedule to ensure all learners are assigned to the appropriate learning events while making the most efficient use of available resources.

  • Oversees day-to-day schedule management including room, device, instructor, and learner changes.

  • Collaborates with the respective training manager on future resource requirements and training capacity. 

  • Collaborates with training records team to ensure that learners are scheduled according to position / qualification requirements.

  • Oversees documentation of training scheduling processes and ensures that these processes are executed consistently.

  • Drives the evolution of the scheduling process using technology resources and process design. 

  • Supports the delivery of an exceptional learner experience.

  • Leads team of training schedulers including selection, performance management, and mentoring

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

  • Five (5) years logistical or planning or related

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate and consult with internal customers and colleagues to drive business results.

  • Demonstrated ability to creatively solve complex problems and make sound decisions under significant time constraints.

  • Solid knowledge of Scheduling Systems

  • Knowledge of PowerPoint, Excel and SharePoint.

  • Must pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test.

  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located.

    Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Five (5) years’ training scheduling experience

  • Regulatory or airline experience

  • Experience utilizing commercial electronic scheduling software (especially MINT Training Management System or similar)

Crewmember Expectations:

  • Regular attendance and punctuality

  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice

  • Well-groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance

  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

  • Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and Fun

  • Must fulfill safety accountabilities as prescribed by JetBlue’s Safety Management System

  • Promote JetBlue’s #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue’s Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards

  • Identify safety concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report(SAR))

  • Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures and risk controls

  • Uphold JetBlue’s safety performance metric goals and understand how they relate to their duties and responsibilities

  • Normal Office Environment

Physical Effort:

  • Generally not required, or up to 10 pounds occasionally, 0 pounds frequently. (Sedentary)
