Position Description

AMETEK, Inc. is seeking a customer focused, technically strong individual to fulfill the Manufacturing Engineering Manager position at their Collegeville, PA location. Reporting to the Director of Quality and NPD. This individual is accountable for maintaining the efficiency and effectiveness of all production related manufacturing equipment & processes required to manufacture a high-quality product in a repeatable and cost-effective manner. This individual is also accountable for determining the manufacturability of products coming through the new product development process and will drive improvements in all related manufacturing processes, including those related to products, equipment, human interface and product quality.
Position Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining quality processes.
2. Lead manufacturing engineering and related functions to provide input and technical support in product design and development process to assure manufacturability of new products and improvements to existing products.
3. Ensures production equipment is capable and has capacity for growth; involves integrating equipment, people, material flow systems, and information systems.
4. Develop and maintain process quality control systems to ensure product quality and accurate product costing.
5. Develop and maintain quality infrastructure related to heat treating, welding, and other Special Processes.
6. Diagnose manufacturing quality issues and implement effective and preventable actions.
7. Drive continuous improvement in labor costs through waste reduction, production efficiency, and operations improvement. Develop metrics with operations, quality, engineering and sales to quantify and capture cost reduction opportunities.
8. Develop and maintain purchasing specifications, and verify purchased materials conform to specification. Follow non-conformance procedures for the disposition of return materials and assess associated costs and responsibility. Support corrective action and work toward resolution.
9. Increase productivity through the support, development, and leadership of manufacturing engineering team and related functions.
10. Responsible for performance management, professional development, and routine documentation.
11. Prepare procedures, reports, and plans.
12. Prepare, review, and approve technical documents.

Position Requirements

• Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC).
• Working knowledge of PLC controllers and digital instrumentation.
• Familiarity with NADCAP requirements.
• Understanding of metallurgy, mechanical engineering, and thermal processing.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited college/university or equivalent experience 7-10 years of relevant manufacturing engineering experience with a minimum of 3 years of leadership experience.
• Experience at leading technical personnel, staffing, reviews and goal setting
