Position Description

Position Summary:
The Marketing Communications Manager will develop and implement a marketing communications strategy and corresponding tactical plan that supports the business objectives of the AMETEK Precitech, Sterling and TMC business units. The person in this role will have a mix of strategic and tactical responsibilities that will include:

Team Management
* Assists in preparation of marketing plan, long- and short-term strategy, product advertisement, tracking and reporting trends of market conditions, and overall governance of marketing-directed action plans
* Manages the relationship and activities of an internationally based web and graphics coordinator
* Manages all third-party marketing communications support, including consultants, printers, graphic designers, and trade show companies
* Prepares cost estimates for annual department budget and tracks project costs to control expenses

Brand Implementation
* Oversees and manages branding initiatives including company and product logos, campaigns, and promotions to reflect company culture, market position, and objectives
* Ensures compliance with corporate brand guidelines throughout the product lines, promotional materials, and events
* Ensures consistency of business unit branding throughout all efforts and material

Message Development
* Works with the engineering team to develop new product messages that resonate with the target customers
* Develops internal and external messaging and communications and communications relating to strategic initiatives, including new product launches

Press & Media
* Develops news articles on key initiatives and secures placement in trade and non-trade publications
* Creates and distributes press releases to media outlets
* Tracks and reports results of press and media efforts

Digital Marketing
* Coordinates all website content. (Ensures that the content is implemented correctly by the web and graphics coordinator)
* Manages social media channels
* Creates custom e-blasts for multiple markets
* Leads efforts to improve search engine optimization (SEO)
* Uses a wide range of marketing skills to generate and nurture leads for the sales team
* Monitors metrics for all channels and tracks ROI

Content Marketing
* Leads and executes the content management strategy and creates and follows a content calendar
* Creates content and sales support material that may include brochures, project descriptions, case studies, data sheets, web copy, line cards, posters, banners, videos, and all other forms of content that are relevant to the industry

Event Marketing
* Manages all aspects of trade show and event planning, including participation, schedules, planning, message development, support, and follow up

Position Requirements

The ideal candidate is an experienced communicator and creative problem-solver with exceptional writing and communication skills. This person will have the ability to work well in a highly collaborative manner with both internal and external team members. This individual will play an integral role in setting, managing, and implementing the strategic marketing communications plans for both business units. This position will report to the Business Unit Manager, and will interface with corporate marketing leadership.

Education and Experience
• 5-7 years of experience in similar business-to-business marketing and communications capacities
• A 4-year degree from an accredited higher education institution is required. A Bachelor's degree in writing, journalism, marketing, communications, advertising, or a related field, is preferred.
• Superior communication skills, including writing, grammar, proofing, and editing
• Strong marketing skills and knowledge of best practices
• Experience implementing a comprehensive marketing and content management strategy
• Experience partnering with third-parties and consultants on marketing and communications initiatives
• Experience in an industrial, technical, engineering, or manufacturing company will be considered a plus.

Required Capabilities
• Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat
• Experience with Constant Contact or similar
• Ability to write marketing material of a technical nature

Other skills and experience that will be helpful, but not necessary with proven experience, include:
• Experience in public relations
• Experience with SiteCore content management system
• Familiarity with the concept of Solution Selling
• Knowledge of marketing automation software
• Familiarity with Google Analytics
• Understanding of using PPC for lead generation
