Job Summary

The Material Control Center Director supervises/manages logistical support functions.  This includes parts and materiel ordering, parts expediting, maintaining and warehousing inventory and performing Tool Room operations.  Manage materials/cargo, account for government materials and funds expenditures, prepare and maintain required forms, records, correspondence, reports and files.  
Principal Accountabilities
  • Possess a good working knowledge of the governing supply systems, programs, policies, nomenclature, work methods, manuals, or other established guidelines.
  • Possess an understanding of the needs of the organization serviced.
  • Analytical ability to define or recognize the dimension of the problems involved, to collect the necessary data to establish the facts, and take or recommend action based upon application or interpretation of established guidelines. 
  • Familiarity with the peculiarities of the Navy/USAF/United States Marine Corps (USMC) logistics support procedures used to support material requirements.
  • Experienced in coordinating requirements submitted by the material/supply foreman and providing necessary interface among the weapon systems manager, cognizant field activity, and as applicable to T/M/S.
  • Capable of making recommendations concerning the functions of the Material Control Center (MCC) at all supply/logistics meetings. 
  • Knowledge of and the ability to initiate surveys, validate not-mission-capable supply/partial mission-capable supply status, inventory aircraft and perform budget accounting.
  • Demonstrated capability in using automated information systems (computers) to include the Naval Aviation Logistics Command Management Information System.
  • Perform other duties as required

Knowledge & Skills 
  • Eight years base/installation level supply experience within the last 12 years.
  • Five of the last 12 years, must have been in material facilities and stock record control activities.
  • Three of the eight years shall have been in a supervisory capacity.  
  • Experience in managing supply functions such as storage, issue, inspection, research, repairable processing, shipping, receiving, warehousing, aircraft maintenance support, preparing MILSTRIP requisitions, and accounting for aircraft parts and equipment.
  • Experience in the maintenance and updating of aircraft data collection systems files

  • Bachelor’s degree in an associated discipline is highly preferred, High School graduate or equivalent required.
