Today, the fully integrated landing systems we design, test and manufacture help millions of passengers reach their destinations safely. But we aren’t satisfied with today’s success. Role:

The Material/Process Engineer II is responsible for managing and monitoring the manufacturing processes for carbon/carbon composite aircraft brakes, qualifying new technology or new aircraft programs into production, and providing hands-on leadership in the identification and resolution of process issues that impact the product. The Material/Process Engineer will also identify and support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving product performance or reducing cost and variation. They work directly with all levels of staff from production floor to senior leadership to ensure the product meets all necessary quality standards while maintaining the site’s cost and delivery goals.

Essential Functions:

* Ongoing production monitoring and troubleshooting of problems associated with assigned aircraft programs
* Expected to demonstrate ownership of assigned programs, becoming technical experts and proactively monitoring process data for signs of changes or issues
* Management of complex, long-term technical projects involving multi-site and interdepartmental coordination to meet project goals
* Data mining and analysis in support of root cause investigations and justification or validation of changes.
* Write detailed technical reports and deliver presentations
* Write and maintain product & process specifications
* Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at cost reduction or process improvement
* Liaison among multiple carbon sites, Troy headquarters, and other departments regarding support/information associated with their brake programs

Qualification:

Minimum Qualifications:

* 3+ years of engineering experience
* Project management
* Experience with data manipulation and analysis

Preferred Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree in Chemical or Materials Engineering
* Skilled in technical writing and presentation delivery
* Experience in the aerospace industry
* Experience working with composite materials.
* Experience working in a manufacturing environment
* Knowledge of statistical process control concepts
