JOB DUTIES

Reads and interprets blueprints, sketches, or product specifications to determine sequence and methods of fabricating, assembling, and installing sheet metal products.

Lays out and marks dimensions and reference lines on material to develop and trace patterns of product or parts, or uses templates.

Sets up and operates fabricating machines such as shears, brakes, presses, forming rolls, and routers, to cut, bend, block and form, or straighten materials.

Shapes metal material over anvil, block, or other form.

Trims, files, grinds, deburrs, buffs, and smooths surfaces.

Solders, bolts, rivets, screws, clips, caulks, or bonds component parts to assemble products.

Installs assemblies in supportive framework according to blueprints.

Inspects assemblies and installation for conformance to specifications. Repairs and maintains sheet metal products. 

Other duties as required.


EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and REQUIREMENTS

 
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Prefer minimum of six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

A & P license is equal to one year experience.

Basic knowledge consisting of some exposure in a shop environment with hand tools, wood and/or metal working equipment and production assembly. 
 
PC knowledge, Microsoft Office.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Exhibit and practice professional and courteous behavior while interacting with both internal and external customers.
 
Interact within a cooperative environment through beneficial behaviors, commitment to common goals, contribution to problem solving, communication of ideas and suggestions, an encouragement to other employees, and departments.
 
Accountable for the control and distribution of documents and/or equipment subject to export control restrictions and the security of FlightSafety materials, projects and business information regarding the methods and techniques used in the production and usage of FlightSafety products.
 
Accountable for the accuracy and completeness of assigned tasks.
 
Able to adhere to a work schedule including prompt and regular attendance.
