Description
 

SUMMARY Support Technicians are under the immediate and direct supervision of a Certified Technician and are ultimately responsible to the Director of Maintenance. It will be the responsibility of the Support Technician to perform assigned duties safely and in a manner that will ensure the airworthiness of the aviation product maintained.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Only perform those duties for which they have been properly trained. Maintain personal tools in a condition that will not compromise the condition of the product being maintained. Replace simple items such as, batteries, filters and similar accessories, using basic mechanic hand tools. Remove / install inspection plates, cowling, engine covers, floor boards, and related items. Technician helper for 2 person tasks. Clean aircraft interior and exterior. Basic aircraft interior maintenance work such as: hydro lock changes, window shades, cabin trim, carpet changes, lamp replacement (for reading, galley, lav, ceiling, and cove lights) Lube tasks (gear, wing, and tail lubes) General utility work including: staging and servicing hydraulic/oil carts, swapping out nitrogen bottles. Equipment round-up for maintenance tasks (i.e. tire carts, jacks, dollies, nitrogen bottles for tire/break changes). Complete all paperwork in accordance with the procedures outlined in the QCM and RSM. Maintain the work area in a clean and safe manner. All other duties as assigned.

CORE COMPETENCIES Organization: very detail oriented and always comes prepared Communication: excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills Initiative: plans work and carries out tasks without detailed instructions, prepares for problems or opportunities in advance, undertakes additional responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. -Mechanical ability -Read, write and understand English EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High School diploma or equivalent required. Some maintenance experience (including relative experience outside of Aviation). Strong interpersonal, communication skills, ability to read, comprehend and write English required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.
