Job description

Summary of Job Purpose:
Performs a variety of assembly operations to assemble small- and medium-sized precision units or sub-assemblies. Identifies components parts and completed assemblies with Eaton and customer identification numbers. Maintains required logs and records.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions

• Perform a variety of assembly operations to assemble small- and medium-sized units of sub-assemblies involving a considerable number of parts.
• Fit and align parts to insure free action and movable parts and operating requirements.
• Work is highly repetitive and products are usually standardized as to design and function.
• Assign and stamp identification data such as part and serial numbers to components and/or assemblies.
• Assure that pertinent identification information is in accordance with latest drawings and customer requirements.
• Identify parts by ink stamping or vibra etching.
• Work from verbal instructions, simple detail prints, sketches and assembly drawings.
• Use assembly fixtures and power-type bench and hand tools.
• Use required precision measuring instruments and gauging devices.
• Completed assemblies are subject to inspection and test.
• Assignments are given progressive supervision and sample verification.
• Work requires some degree of skill and assembly technique.
• Continuous improvement efforts required.
• The employee maybe required to work beyond normal working hours from time to time as the workload dictates.
• Control material flow through assembly areas.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Competencies:

External Candidates Basic Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment
• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship
• This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee

Internal Candidate Basic Qualifications
• At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
• Legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship

Skills and Abilities:
Position Criteria
• Exhibit sufficient understanding of electro static discharge to properly use ESD materials while handling or performing operations on ESD sensitive components.
• Requires a high degree of skill and assembling technique, considerable experience and basic knowledge of design and mechanical assembly principles.
• The employee may be required to work beyond normal working hours from time to time as the workload dictates.
• Skilled in assembling small device
• Experience with reviewing drawings and schematic layouts.
• Understand engineering drawings and detailed assembly aid instructions and work with engineers.
• Familiar with various pneumatic, power assembly tools and related equipment utilized in electromechanical assembly processes

Physical Requirements :

• While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
