Job Description

American Airlines Federal Credit Union, well known for its financial leadership, innovation and service, has an opening for a new Member Service Representative at its Branch located in JFK International Airport.  An important component of the MSR role is building positive relationships with AAFCU members, which is key in understanding member needs and recommending appropriate products and services to fulfill those needs. 

 

Job duties include:
  • Open new accounts, sell and process Credit Union services for new and existing members
  • Post deposits and process loan payments
  • Process various monetary transactions and maintaining account information
  • Perform Notary Services as required
  • Create and promote positive name recognition for the Credit Union   
  • Work with branch/department managers and leverage cross-selling opportunities
  • Research member inquiries and provide solutions as required in a timely manner

  • Implement and enforce internal control and security measures in accordance with Credit Union policies and government regulations
  • Foster a culture that promotes teamwork, service excellence and relationship building within the covered branches and overall organization
  • Input member information for consumer loan applicants
  • Awareness of all branch functions and duties to ensure proper support and coverage is provided at all times
  • Flexibility to perform other duties as assigned
  • Work in a rotating Saturday schedule as applicable

Job Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be able to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language
  • Excellent oral and written skills to effectively communicate in the Spanish language
  • High school diploma or GED, college degree preferred

 

Additional Qualifications:

  • Previous banking or Credit Union experience preferred
  • Must have excellent member service skills, excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Applicant must be VERY comfortable in a sales-cultured environment with a desire to cross sell Credit Union products and services
  • Must be able to work well independently and with minimal supervision
  • Capable of effectively working with people of varying backgrounds and levels and securing inter- and intra- departmental and external cooperation

Job Qualifications (Continued)

  • Ability to proficiently use standard office equipment, PC software and applications necessary to perform job duties
  • Above-average interpersonal and communication skills and professional telephone manner
  • Strong organizational skills and capacity for attention to detail
  • Good aptitude for mathematics and analytical ability
  • Must work well under deadlines and high volume pressure
  • Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
  • Satisfactory performance and attendance are required
  • Candidates will be required to pass applicable American Airlines pre-hire compliance checks
  • Must fulfill FAA criminal background checks to qualify for unescorted access privileges to airport security identification display areas (SIDA), if applicable
  • Must have acceptable credit history, which will be verified (e.g., no past due accounts, charge-offs, collection items or bankruptcies)
