We provide innovative support for current and future products and services, act as global scouts for innovative technologies, and solve our customers' most difficult technology challenges.

The BR&T Manufacturing and Materials Technology team is looking for an engineer with a physics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or material science degree for our Oklahoma City Non Destructive Evaluation (NDE) Engineering group.

Responsibilities:
• Translate engineering and scientific concepts to practical NDE solutions.
• Apply knowledge of airplane structure, metallurgy, electricity, chemistry, mechanics, and physics to develop, evaluate, and implement non-destructive systems and testing techniques.
• Translate engineering requirements into work requirements and tasks.
• Plan, schedule, and lead others to produce technical work responsive to customer needs within allocated budgets.
• Contacts customers, teaming partners, subcontractors, and suppliers to exchange technical data and develop new NDE techniques.
• Manages customer and supplier relationships and participate on teams to develop fundamental approaches used to solve aircraft sustainment issues.
• Create and maintain detailed documents (e.g., equipment specifications, techniques and training).
• Interpret and analyze measurement results (including simulation (e.g., modeling, samples) or laboratory analysis) to verify acceptability of detail parts or assemblies from the requesting organization (e.g., Quality Assurance, Fabrication, Engineering).
• Act as a consultant for NDE results and recommend additional inspection methods for problem resolution.
• Performs engineering drawing reviews to ensure that the correct NDE method is used for product acceptance.
• Supports analysis of failed parts by recommending NDE approaches to determine causes and/or eliminate future failures.
• Develop NDE equipment and systems, including hardware, software and electronics to support engineering requirements.
• Develops training manuals and author NDE techniques and procedures
• Conducts reviews and/or audits of supplier facilities including equipment, processes, NDE results and personnel to ensure that process specifications and quality requirements are met.

• Identifies and fills gaps in information required to understand strategic issues. Organizes information and data to identify/explain problems and causes; compares and combines information to identify underlying issues. Generates and considers options for actions to achieve a long-range goal or vision of organization; develops decision criteria considering factors such as cost, benefits, risks, and timing; presents recommendation on the strategy most likely to succeed. Identifies the key tasks and resources needed to achieve objectives. Provides support to ensure that strategies are carried out.

Technical Competencies:

• Complete knowledge of aircraft structure, materials strengths and properties, design criteria, loading conditions, and processes (e.g. non-destructive testing, corrosion prevention).
• Complete ability to read, understand, and interpret basic engineering drawings and specifications.
• Fully knowledgeable about material processing for metals (e.g., welding forging, heat treat, machining, forming), polymers and composites (e.g., autoclave curing, lay-up, co-curing, repair), sealants and finishes processing (e.g., plating, painting, surface preparation, fay surface sealing, fillet sealing), and ceramic (e.g., high temperature processing, machining) and electronic materials (e.g., soldering, printed circuit board cleaning, conformal coating).
• Complete understanding and ability to apply job practices and techniques pertaining to non-destructive evaluation processes. Able to interpret results against published standards.
• Complete knowledge and the ability to interpret policies, practices, processes, and procedures, i.e. ISO resources including documentation, as they apply to technical documentation to ensure quality product delivery.
• Complete knowledge of structural repair principles (e.g., fatigue and corrosion, stress analysis, statics, materials strength, material characteristics, repair techniques). Knowledge of structural repair, overhaul, nondestructive inspection, corrosion control, and composites.
