This position is responsible for leading a team to efficiently and safely work on the aircraft, providing technical solutions and ensuring progress is being made in line with the aircraft project plans and commercial targets.
Lead assigned staff and ensure progress is made on the aircraft in line with the project network plan and given targets.
Work with the Bay Manager (or Line Leader where applicable) and other Team Leaders to ensure decisions are taken in the best interests of the project and that a controlled and professional handover of the aircraft to the customer is achieved.
Use the performance dialogue system to guide team’s behavior to ensure targets set for their workstation and team are achieved and / or exceeds in a timely manner.
Establish and achieve efficiency improvements through sustained processes in production systems and procedures.
Have an in-depth knowledge of the status of job cards and materials for their workstation and ensure all materials are ordered accurately, on time and in the correct quantities.
Manage performance of direct reports through the continuous appraisal of assigned staff and by conducting annual / interim appraisals
Lead and develop direct reports so that they have the necessary skills to do their job.
Take an active role in the development of assigned Trainees.
Ensure their teams work in line with the Company working time system.
Ensure a high standard of Quality, House Keeping, Health & Safety and Tool Care is maintained in accordance with company procedures.
Perform Certification of their own work and the work performed by their assigned team members in a timely manner.
Ensure that all paperwork is completed and up to date as work is being progressed.
Lead trouble shooting and solve technical problems on aircraft.
Provide technical assistance to others, including other teams.
Assist otherteam members with issues that prevent them from completing assigned tasks.
Lead projects as assigned by the Bay Manager (or Line Leader where applicable).
Deputize for the Line Leader (or Bay Manager where applicable) and other Team Leaders when required.
Education, Skills and Competencies:
Airframe and Powerplant degree or related degree from a FAA approved school.
Must hold Level 2 approval for at least two (2) years (or equivalent).
The ability to perform Final Release function or obtain Final Release is desireable.
Ability to lead and motivate teams and individuals.
Ability to work under pressure and with demanding deadlines.
Excellent technical knowledge of aircrafts with high levels of exposure to base
Good knowledge of aircraft documentation, legislation and ability to interpret other
technical work orders.
Change management / Continuous Improvement skills.
Fluent in English (both written and spoken).
Ability to use and work with MS Office products, SAP and other software packages
Available to travel
